Two things:
Man has some big ones.
It's hard for me to believe that one could steer a bicycle at that speed? I mean I know he is on a straight flat surface but the slightest twist or movement of his body in a unbalanced way means certain disaster.
I'm sure the bike has better bearings and tires than a common bicycle also, in fact the frame itself would have to be stronger and braced well to handle the take off torque.
