I have a 2005 Yamaha Zuma that has a 70cc BB kit installed. I have the heads torqued to correct specs. I have a technigas pipe on it and the carb has been up jetted to where it runs the best. Stock carb with stock air box but does have a uni filter replacing the original element. The gears have been changed in the trans to taller gearing. Ok, the scooter flat out runs great. I have been riding it around town for about 400 miles after the kit was installed. I have put it through several heat cycles until it should be broken in. I was riding to the little shop I help out at going around 35 to 40 mph. It had been running about 20 miles at speeds around 35 to 40 mph. Out of the blue the scooter just stopped running and drifted to a stop. I turned the key off and waited about 30 to 40 secs the turned the key on and it started right up. It has been running ever since around the shop area. I have not road it home cause I was afraid of it leaving me. Any ideas out there in the scooter world?? Thanks ahead of time, Bill aka the Flash

Could be just ran out of fuel, maybe the gas tank was not venting and cut the fuel flow. Does it have a EVAP system on the scoot where a hose from the top of the tank eventually winds up attached to a canister controlled by vacuum? Alleyoop

fuel system good good spark everything checks out fine I think it may be somehow connected the stator system somehow. I noticed on my Zuma that the head lights were dim while I was at an idle, when before at idle the head light would be bright. I just wonder if the spark was not there and just something.Maybe the stator is just going bad.

Get a volt meter it may be the Regulator/Rectifier. Start it up and check the battery and rev it up to 4-5k and it should charge up to aroud 13+. Also is your CDI a DC CDI if so then it is feed from the battery and if the battery gets low it will kill the motor. Alleyoop

Agree with Alley, what's going on with your electricals, is it DC or AC? What do you have going into your CDI? How about a pic? That would help. Your spark genesis is generally not going to tank from the lights dimming. If you have a magneto dedicated AC wire to the CDI, that is your spark power right there and is completely separate from the charging and lighting wires. If in fact it is a DC powered CDI, that is from the battery, then the overall bike voltage feasibly could affect the spark. Alley's infamous, and quite clever, check to see if you have a DC powered system is to see if you have a wire into the CDI that gets 12v DC hot when the key is on. I would say that is in the two port but this is a Zuma so who knowsa? The killwire has a diode on it into the CDI so all bets are off. How about a pic and how about seeing if you have a 12v DC wire into the CDI?

Ok guys I have not had a chance to even look at my scooter. I do know that it does have a different cdi than the other 2s out there. When I got a CDI from Jeremy at enviromoto it was not the stock one he had to send me another one than the first one he sent me and told me that model 05 had a different CDI. I know the lights do not come on until I start the scooter. I will try to get to it this week end and let you know. I do appreciate all the help.
I can tear down and rebuild a fast 4s but when it comes to a 2s and electronics I am stuck. I let my boss do the electronics but I have to learn some time I am not getting any younger.
