Scoot has been running very well until two days ago. I am riding my mp 250a about 45 miles each way to work, no real problems to speak of. Two days ago I stopped at a BP station I haven't visited before and filled her up. About 20 miles later, she cut off while approaching a red light, acted like it was starving for fuel. I was able to restart after five minutes of cranking. It's happened four times since. When it runs, it runs good, then bam no gas. I got good volts. My vacuum hoses look good, but I'm gonna change anyway. I'm going to clean the carb and spark plug tomorrow. But when I checked the fuel filter, it has some white solids by the output. So, tomorrow I'm getting a new filter as well.
So, that's my question. I'm thinking of getting a generic filter at wally world, and wonder where you all get your filters.
Thanks.

If it has a EVAP system you may have filled it up to much the last time at BP and gas ran down into the VENT house and maybe filled the EVAP canister that traps fumes and sends them back into the into to be burned. So if it happens again Crack open the Gas Tank Cap and see if that helps it. If the tank builds up fumes and the vent is clogged it cannot vent and no gas will flow out of the gas tank. If you do have one of those EVAP systems on I would take it off and just put a Fuel filter on the end of the gas tank vent hose and zip tie it higher than the tank and get rid of the extra hoses and canister . It does have a vacuum hose going to the canister so the Vacuum line has to be plugged at it's ORIGIN. Alleyoop

Thanks, Alley. This time, I had added only one gallon, enough to get home and to the Racetrac where I usually fill up. We think alike, though, cause I did remove the gas cap for a bit while cranking, thinking it wasn't venting. Good idea about removing the evap system. One less potential vacuum leak.

I found a filter at O'Reillys that fit. I got a Microgard 33001, equivalent to a Fram G1P. It had the 1/4 inch fittings of the other, but was bigger, maybe double the filter surface area. And it was only $1.49!
Now for the bad news. I checked the valves. Intake was .oo4, exhaust had gone down to.003. I upped that to .007. I replaced all of the vacuum hoses, changed the fuel line with good quality reinforced fuel hose, and the filter, and took it for a spin. It was still stalling. I read a few other threads in the past few months of people having the exact same issue. But no one posted if they got it fixed. During the ride, I noticed at wot it was fine. But at a quarter throttle or less, it would sputter and die. At least now after changing the filter, it would start right back up.
When I got back home I took the carb apart, and cleaned every jet with cleaner and compressed air. I checked the mix, almost three turns out, reduced that to two and a half. I checked the diaphragm and blew air into the upper slot of the intake, and watched the needle raise and lower. Also made sure the float closed off as it should.
Got everything back together and set the idle at 2000 with the rear on the ground. Rode for about ten miles and it seems to have fixed it. The throttle response is way better. I didn't even notice it had gone away. We'll see how it does tomorrow.
