I just picked up this 1989 Daelim Trac Moped and now need a wire diagram. I would also appreciate a source for parts. This thing has lots of issues, but I want to get it going. Thanks in advance, Chris

Chris, what model of Trac do you have? Daelim didn't make these mopeds but rather made the motor for them. It's a reliable motor but extremely hard to get parts for especially the belts. The four that I am familiar with is the Olympic Eagle, Hawk and Clipper. JR

It looks like the Olympic. The name plate says it was manufactured in Jan 89 by Daelim Motor Company, but I have no idea. That's why I'm looking for help. Someone has removed the battery and cut many of the wires. It will run, but it's nothing special. I did find a manual for all of the mopeds you listed, but it doesn't have any wiring info. Thanks for your input, Chris

mopedcentral.com/images/TracDaelimService.pdfYes but the manual gives a lot of valuable testing electrical trouble shooting. If it runs then we know two things the ac pulse coil and Ac voltage feed to the CDI are putting out unless this is an old points condenser model. I'll keep looking. JR

Yes, that's the one I found. I agree, it will be helpful. It's an 89 and I haven't even looked at enough to know if there is a CDI box or if it has points. I think I would know the CDI when I see it. Tomorrow I will look for the box or a points cover. Thanks again, Chris

Also take note of this info:
The Laura M56 is an engine found on the Batavus Regency and some Starflites. Daelim Motors produced mopeds under the name Trac, which used an identical replica of this motor in the mid 80's. The Trac M56 is officially the Daelim M56. Parts between the Laura M56 and the Daelim M56 are 100% identical and interchangeable.
Air cooled single cylinder two-stroke Laura Motoren unit. 40mm (1.57in) bore X 38mm (1.49in). NIKASIL plated aluminum cylinder and aluminum head, rolling-element main bearings. Reed valve, Encarwi carburetor.

According to the service manual, this is a pointless design.

Yes I found that diagram too but it's not your moped. Reason you said someone removed the battery and if you look at this diagram it has no battery. The stator/magneto runs everything and is also a old 6Vdc system. The sparkplug coil even gets it's voltage directly from the stator.
This is why this moped can and does run with no battery. Are you sure your moped had a battery? It would be hard for me to believe they still made 6 volt systems in 1989?

According to the manual there was a 6 volt battery. There is a photo in the manual of the battery and my moped has the 1/2 box that is in the photo. I also noticed that there was no battery represented in the schematic, but assumed it existed but was not shown. I found the CDI box and the rectifier (under the tank they are under a plastic cover. Any suggestions where to locate parts? The pedals didn't work but my son could run with it to start. So, I pulled/tore down the motor today and the small pedal chain and the small chain tensioner are damaged. The case/housing is also damaged right below the tensioner but I think I can fix that. Thanks again, Chris

The case is marked DP 50. It is very similar to the information I can find on the Laura M56, but there seem to be some differences. Unfortunately, someone has had this apart and there are some missing parts. One of the two clutches and its sprocket are gone. So, the fact that the small start chain was broken wouldn't have made a difference. Thanks, Chris
