Yes Flintstone I do understand the local gathering. These places are becoming far and few any more, like your local little mom and pop country store. They always had a outside bench for the old timers to gather and drink a pop and socialize about the times and good old days.
Can't find old pool halls anymore where you could shoot a game of snooker or play dominoes and socialize either. Just like they were replaced by video arcades and they DSI's the old post office as we know it is leaving.
Even though this is now a museum it was actually at one time the local store and Post Office at the same time:
Sadly now IMO if the Postal Service doesn't get it together you may see them all as museums soon.
