HI from a different forum..in research saw your posts re chinese reg/rect.. here's what I know from research and experiment.
Chinese 5 wire regulator as I see it from the diagram.

Pink and yellow are from the single phase alternator..these colors may vary
Red directly to battery plus terminal and one side of the ign switch...nowhere else
Green directly to battery neg and frame ground
all the active devices are connected to the BLACK as a positive source ! ign, lts, horn, ins. Etc. but no positive there until >>
When the ign sw is ON it connects the red to the black supplying plus to ign and everything else
When the ign sw is off that circuit is open (and another set of contacts grounds the ign system).
testing has shown that the regulators are of the cheap "shunt" design. that means if there isn't enough load on them like if battery is disconnected, they will try to "shunt" all excess current to ground and either burn the supply wires or the reg itself.

hope this is of use..just can't find a really reliable schematic or pinout on these things

Welcome to the forum jinx! For the most part that is correct with a few exceptions of course.

What made this set up odd is the CDI is powered directly form the R/R on this scooter so bad R/R means scooter won't run. This is the first setup like this I've seen because scooters run on two set ups a AC one where the CDI is powered directly form the stator or a DC set up where the CDI is powered from the battery and neither are linked with the R/R.

On a typical GY-6 Chinese scooter one can run the scooter without a R/R at all and on the DC set up the same as long as the battery is charged but again this system runs from the voltage output of the R/R, unplug the R/R or if it's bad the scooter is dead.

Well this might be a big bump for this topic but I'm a bit lost and you seem to be the only ones who understand the Honda Sky.
First of all, I'm Dutch, and the Honda sky is a very rare sight here.

I've got one though, but it won't start anymore.
About a few months ago, I installed a new battery, (not sure if this is the cause of the problem though), before this you had to start it manually.
It was running fine, and everything worked perfectly.
But one day, all of a sudden, it wouldn't start.
Upon my own inspection, i suspected the ignition wasn't working, so I brought it to the nearest scooter shop.
They came to the same conclusion, the Ignition was faulty. There was no/almost no spark so the engine wouldn't start.

The question that rises now is: Could it be the ECU or is it the R/R. At the scooter shop they said it could either be the stator or the CDI (I think that's called an ECU in English).

A new/second hand ECU would cost me around 50 dollars.
I don't know what a new regulator would cost. Could I use a regulator from a GY6 scooter? P.S. The blinkers seem to be working fine and the starter motor is also working, but I think this runs from the DC circuit.

No we've crossed this bridge before. One cannot use a R/R from a typical GY-6 engine. The Sky is odd, the CDI get's it's voltage from the R/R. Unlike most scooters if the R/R goes bad the engine will still rune, not the Sky, bad R/R means not spark to the plug.

Well I've installed the new CDI but there is still no spark.
Could it be the rectifier? Or the stator?
Is there any way to check if the rectifier is still working?
Do you need a scope or is a voltmeter enough?
I see there are 4 wires going to the CDI, what are their functions?
From left to right:

W/BL comes from the rectifier/regulator.
B/R seems to be coming from the OFF position on the "zundschalter" (I think this is the ignition/lock?). Also what does the C position on this "zundschalter" mean?
B/W Is a ground wire. Easy to check, could be the problem?
P (pink) comes straight from the "magnetzünder".

Any ideas on their functions? I'm not really familiar with the inner workings of a CDI/Ignition module so please enlighten me on the subject.

The W/BL from the R/R feeds voltage to the CDI. It is a very odd setup and if the R/R is bad you'll have no spark. Several who have this scooter have had this happen, it was a long process for us here to discover this and when we found a diagram it clearly proved this.

The B/R is engine kill wire
The B/R is as you say a ground.
The P is pulse signal wire from the stator that tell the CDI when to fire.
