ok so i got a new carb type 2 50 cc carb put it on still wont start checked the spark again still good checked the air still see no cracks or leeks checked the fuel line gas just barely flowing opened up the drain valve cranked it over no gas coming out pulled the lines and filter neither clogged i think its the fuel valve on the bottom of the tank so i looked on partsforscooters and all i saw were in line fuel valves the one they have that looks like it bolts onto the bottom of the tank says its for a two stroke my scoot is a 4 stroke will it still work ?

Ok, take the FUEL HOSE OFF the carb and put it in a Container and CRANK The motor over and see if FUEL FLOWS out of the fuel hose and stops when you stop cranking. If fuel flows out in a nice stream then it is your carb that has a problem. And it is the Float Plunger or Float that is not set right and is closeing the fuel inlet on the carb. Try that and tell us if Fuel Flows in the container.
Then we will know if the problem is not the Carb but either the Tank is clogged or the Petcock is bad. Did you check your fuel Filter? If the PETCOCK is one that is ATTACHED TO THE TANK then it could be the FILTER on the PETCOCK itself that is clogged which is inside the tank. Alleyoop

Ok, Do you have a FILTER on it, if so take the filter off and see if you have flow. ALso try this take the VACUUM HOSE by the Carb and SUCK ON IT and see if fuel flows. IF IT FLOWS when you suck on it then that means you have no VACUUM . If it still does not flow it is TIME TO TAKE the PETCOCK out and get a new one. Alleyoop

I personnaly do not like the PETCOCKS that are attached to the TANK directly. What I would do to make life easier down the rode is take the Petcock out of the tank and replace it with a Petcock that is stand alone. You will need a piece like this, then attach a hose to it clamp it then run that down to a standalone petcock. Alleyoop So you get a fuel coupler that will fit the Tank screw that in then attach the hose to it then that hose goes to a standalone Petcock then down to the carb. .partsforscooters.com/Fuel_coupler_50cc-2" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.partsforscooters.com/Fuel_coupler_50cc-2

Do you have compression ? Squrt some gas in the carb while cranking , see if it starts or stumbles .

SO YOU SUCKED ON IT AND FUEL FLOWED(CORRECT). Well make sure you have the Vacuum lines connected correctly here is a picture of where the Vacuum should be connected to on the INTAKE than to a "T" OR "Y" of maybe just straight to the petcock. If all is connected correctly then yes you have no vacuum. Did anything happen before this started or have you worked on the motor, give us a little background on what happened before this started. i think i have compression when i pull the plug and shoot gas in then put the plug back and crank it it starts just until that gas is burnt then dies when i sucked on the vacuum hose gas flowed but when i put the hose back on the manifold and crank it no flow i didnt see any cracks in the manifold but taking the carb off and putting it back on like 10 time might have cracked it i guess i dont know what else it could be its a new carb so i dont think its the carb

The manafold are known for cracking . Go over the vac connections as Alley suggested if in doubt replace the lines and plastic connections .

ok i will tell all when i get back from work, the lines go strait from manifold to petcock when i pulled the hose i did a quick check on it i plugged one end and sucked and the hose stayed attached to my tongue so i dont think the hose has a leak

Ok, If the hoses are on correct: 1. Make sure your AIR FILTER is CONNECTED to the Carb. 2. Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Clockwise until it stops. 3. Then turn the Fuel Ratio Screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 2 1/2 turns. That should be more than enough for fuel to flow out of the carb.
Can you take pictures of the Carb Area and Hoses that would help? Right now it appears it is just a Fuel Delivery Problem but since you put on a carb it may be that the BUTTERFLY is open for some reason the THROTTLE CABLE is on wrong and pulling on the Throttle opening the butterfly which should be closed to act like a choke and be able to suck in fuel. Pull the vac hose from the manafold and crank with you finger over the port hole , you should get good siction . If not the manafold maybe cracked , tighten down on the manafold bolts don't kill it it could be loose . The gasket under could be shot . Also check vac "t" that splits to the carb and pet cock .

ok here is the long story about 2 weeks ago or maybe 3 i noticed my scoot getting harder to start sometimes not always it was getting close to oil change time so i figured the valves are needing to be adjusted also i like to check them at the same time as i do the oil change . well i had three more days till a day off i thought i could make it till then so no biggie changed the oil checked the valves they where fine. sometimes the bike would start on one try some times not sometimes i would have to kick it i was working on getting a new battery over the next week it stated getting harder and harder to start then after riding home in the rain one night the next day it wouldn't start. thought i had goten water in my airbox or in my tank some how the airbox was dry and after an hour got it running again but i had to put gas in the spark plug hole for it to start now i thought to my self it takes 3 things for this motor to run gas air spark pulled the plug checked for spark sew spark that wasnt it got the bike running sprayed starter fluid around air bow hose to carb didn't notice any change in the engine so i thought to myself ill bet the carb is dirty lets clean it the rest is history see, dont know what i did and earlier post.
