Just recently my scooter take a little longer to start,  when I first crank it up, it starts for a second and then crank again starts again for a second, it may take 4 or 5 of these starts to finally stay started, I did notice the idle was low about 1500, what could it be  once its warmed up it will start right up, I did check the enricher is working. Richard need to raise the idle to the 1700 to 1800 RPM range, the linhais don't like the low idle.

It seems to do this to me by times, but when I do move the idle up, it seems to take time for it to move up, I don't get immediate responds.

JR, When I first started scoot it idles about 2200 RPM'S then after about a few minutes it slowly goes down to around 1200, so as it running I adjusted the idle to 1800, So I did get it back up there, we will see have that works  |

Update  Found out why it took so many cranks to start scoot, I was checking my needle jet and discovered that it wasn't put in right, the spring was pushed aside and not on my needle, I was making sure where my clip was. Now it start up good & fast) |

I have notice that certain times my idle is high, tonight when i got home from work, idle was high and my enricher was cold, it seem to me that my enricher isn't worker right, I think it is shutting off and on. (I'm thinking bad enricher)

Well next time it happens and you shut it off take the ENRICHER off and look at it. IT SHOULD be hot and EXTENDED if it is COLD and RETRACTED that is the problem. BUT you also will then to CHECK the feed to the ENRICHER and see if it is sending 12v to the ENRICHER. The Enricher may be good but the feed may be bad. You can also test it out and unplug it and connect it to the battery and see if it gets hot and the plunger extends.

How do you check the feed to the enricher? Last night I did unplug and replug in the enricher and there was some wires exposed, so I tape them up making sure everything was tight.

Well start the scoot and test the wires going into the ENRICHER it should be getting 12vs.
If not then you have a problem down the line if it is getting 12vs by the Enricher then your Enricher is bad

Alleyoop, I set my volt meter the same as testing battery, put black connection neg side of battery, the red on a metal connector on enricher, I got (524). did I test it right. (scoot was only running about 3-4 mins, I'm going to let it run longer and try again.

Today when I got home I checked the enricher and it was hot (that's good) it seems to be working now, I'll keep an eye on it.

Hi Richard,
Good deal, It probably was the fraed wireing that you found that was not allowing the right amount of juice to get to it. How about the cold starts does it start up better with a nice high idle and then the idle drops down.

I'm still having an issue with starting scoot, (when cranking, it will start and run 2 seconds and shuts off, after cranking 4, 5 time it starts) by times my idle drops down to 1000rpm's and I have to keep reving it, idle is running rough, I'm wonder if that intake has something to do with the idle going up and down?
After it start the idle is high about 2100 and then it will down sometimes to 1500, but as it warming up, it does go back up to 1900rpm's.

Yes, the leaking intake will effect starting and IDLE not stable what it does is it LEANS the Mixture to much air for the amount of fuel. Now you probably can compensate for it by richen the mixture up but then it may be to rich after it warms up and be sluggish through out the throttle range causeing loss of some power.
