Hey guys new to board and need some advise. I have a ZNEN 250B. Leaving work the other night I lost my headlights. Curious enough I still had my high beam passing lights. I rode home holding it down... not fun at all. Any ideas where to start tracing?

First of all welcome to the forum. Yes and you need to do one thing for me. The headlights and tail lights run off of the same circuit. Start the scooter and see if the tail lights are on?

If not then the starting point is right above the muffler area behind the right side panel where the R/R is because you've got a loose wire, cut wire or unplugged wire. This is the area that the head/tail lights tie into right after the R/R and before the blocking diode.

If the tail lights are on then we've got a broke wire, or a bad connection where they go into the dimmer switch or even a bad dimmer switch? Don't believe this 250 from Znen has a on/off headlight switch.

These are starting points and FYI the passing light is high beams only and they run from the battery when you press the passing light switch.

Thanks JR... I appreciate the quick response. Your help worked, I found a wire that was grounding out and problem solved! Now I'm in the process of cleaning up the wiring and securing the circuits better. Thanks again... Happy scooting!

If what you stated about holding the high beam switch down, the I would look at the hi/lo switch. I had I problem twice recently dealing with the switch. I guess the spring which pushes the slide across the contacts was not the strong and causing an heating problem due to high current draw. This in turn was melting the plastic which hold the contacts and rising the slide away from the contacts.

What I did was take apart the switch and shave away the melted plastic so that the slide and contacts can make.
