Hi scooter gods.
I have an over heating issue on my Linhai 250B. It's hitting the "H" in about 10 minutes of idle in the garage. What I have done thus far. 1) drained and flushed the old fluids from the radiator cap tomthendrain plug. 2) with the compressor blown air from the radiator cap to the drain plug. 3) filled and burped the system. Still hot. 4) removed thermostat and tested in a pot. Opens at about 180. 5) without replacing the thermostat ran the scoot and it still hits "H" Note the fan sensor is not coming on because the radiator is not hot to the touch but the neck where the thermostat should be is hot enough to burn your finger.
What should I be looking for here? Is this telling me I am not done burping or is the water pump needing to be replaced.
Thanks in advance.

Wooh!!!! There's a breather valve on the carb for the radiator? idcusa.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=634764I did everything else on the docs but mess with the carb. I just came back in from running it for about 30 to 45 minute while it didn't overheat it did get hot. The fan is cycling right above half way up but it continued to get progressively hotter. It currently is sitting between 3/4 and the red. It normally sat at just above halfway. Currently I do not have the thermostat in there. We live in Houston where we don't freeze and we hit 95+ most of the year. Thanks!

you need the tstat in there . Put it back in there and reburp . short term it will run it will get progressily hotter . till it overheats . check your oil check for signs of coolent . Pull the spark plug and check for signs of coolent .

Sorry for the all typos. Darn iPad. I checked the oil and plug and no oil in there. I just put the thermostat back in and burped it again. It seems to lasting longer but its still getting up to the "H". The fan is cycling and the temp sensor seems to be working and because its taking a while but inevivatbly over heating I think im leaning towards the pump as well. GMI is here in town and I think they have one for 60 so I guess I'll be getting one tomorrow.

Yeah it will over heat at idle as well. It just takes a while to get up there.

Can anyone tell me what the proper operating temps should be on the Linhai 250B? I would like to check my temp gauge before replacing the water pump.

another bit of information. Everytime I open the radiator cap it sems to be low. But really the fluid is going to the resevoir. So much so that's its spilling over and coming out there.

Another update. I bought an enfrared gun and the temps are: Radiator 140+ Thermostat neck 140+ Coolant at the cap 130+ Electric chocke 180+
Now where is the temp sponsor connected to the engine (reading from)? I believe it's part of the electric chocke.
Notes: A) not sure if the water pump is actually bad as I do see some flow even though it's very little. B) I believe the temp gauge is bad.
