Welcome to the forum! If it's an 08 and from Killer then more than likely it's a linhai, they sold very few of the cfmoto cloned versions of this scooter or as you mentioned Cruiser who has the YY250T version. Both the linhai and cfmoto versions come with the blocking diode which is what you're calling the GY-6 relay. This is kind of a funny thing going around GY-6 250 no such a thing but parts sellers call things by a lot of names. Now if you properly installed the stator and R/R and it's still not charging then yes indeed the blocking diode can be the problem along with a bad connection or even a bad ground. Here is a picture of the R/R and next to it is the blocking diode. Now some scooters have a different shape or size, some have a wire pigtail and just plug in but they all do the same thing. Now one of the simplest tests to see if the diode is the problem is to simply unplug it and jump the two wires or plug that plugs into it. Don't panic because your headlights will immediately come on when you do this. After jumping it then start the scooter or you can start the scooter and then jump the diode doesn't matter either way. After doing this then take your volt meter and test at the battery terminals to see if it is charging. At idle you should see 13Vdc+ and revved up to 5k RPM you should go over 14Vdc. If this does happen then you can either replace the diode or put in a relay like some have done on this scooter. We have a relay installation how to in the tech section. Let us know what you find out and also I meant to ask, when it was found that it wasn't charging did you contact Killer about it? They are very good about warranty replacement parts. JR
