Got all the panels back on & battery on charger after all the starts with no riding. Plan to ride to work & monitor volts. With my creature of habit 2 mile bubble riding I'm hoping i can try to establish if it is a constant charge issue or an intermittent one caused by a loose wire I haven't found. Also if I need to jump it I can use a car as long as it isn't running correct?

Yes you can do so Dave and all your meter settings were correct for the tests you were peforming. All of your tests were right on. I'll go back to when you said you found one of the plugs poorly connected and when you put it back together properly your volatge came up. Mid 90's would seem all very good and you were testing it correctly with no load. But the manual does say 140Vac @ 5k RPM so I'm concerned? Did you check it at the battery with the lights on again? Also have you ever checked it with the fan running? Since your voltage is equal on all three legs then the next thing is either like you said you've got another bad connection or a bad R/R or possibly a weak stator? As hot as it is it wouldn't take a little bit for the fan to come on with it running. I'd like to see the battery voltage with the fan running at idle and revved up and then with the fan and headlights on? Can you do that? Dave I just did a little more reading on the service manual and it says clearly that with the headlight on high beam and at 5k RPM the system should read 13.5 to 15Vdc. That's standard with a lot of 3-phase stators and even my linhai will hold that on idle. Now I don't like buying and throwing parts at problems without being sure but again I would go through the connections and if I found nothing at all I might go ahaed and replace the R/R. Here is one that is on bid right now and a man might get a bargain? .ebay.com/itm/Regulator-Rectifier-for-150cc-CF-MOTO-E-Charm-motor-scooter-/330770679972?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d037808a4" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.ebay.com/itm/Regulator-Rectifier-for-150cc-CF-MOTO-E-Charm-motor-scooter-/330770679972?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d037808a4My feeling is you need to make sure you've got your jumper cables with you. Well made it the whole week with no dead battery but had to put it on charger yesterday to top it off. Also have a back up battery now under the seat. LoL not gonna miss anymore ride time if I can help it. But alas a new issue came up for another post

Dave this scooter should keep the battery charged with no issues, no charging and no back up battery to keep with you.
I would again go through all the wiring in the R/R to battery and if I found nothing I would at least replace the R/R to see if it helped.

I agree that I shouldn't need a back up battery & there is still something going on but I need to be able to ride & not worry about walking scooter home again. Just was letting you know I found a way to limp it around. I got the battery for cost at $25 & know I can get home if 1 battery dies. I plan on replacing R/R but just can't swing the $ to throw at a part that might not be problem or waste time waiting for part with down time. Guy I got battery from is certified mechanic who works at a Honda shop just a few minutes from me & is much more pleasant/intelligent to deal with than the bum I bought scooter from.

Great Superdave and I understand the $$$$$ was hoping you might get in on that new one in the package for bid on ebay? It starred out at $19.
When you found that bad plug connection still makes me wonder if it is still amking good contact?

Yeah the price was decent but I really don't trust Ebay. Yeah I've thought about the connections & have thought about getting a spade/plug tool or cutting the plugs/replacing them so I can crimp them myself.
