The ground wire on the CDI is good. I got 12.2v on it when I tested it (the battery was at 12.2v). The starter is turning over fine as well but still no spark. I don't like this voltage on the battery it low . Can you turn on your headlights with the ignition on or turn them off while the scooter is running . If your head lights go on when the ignition is turned to the run position , unplug your head light switch and try to start the scooter . I suspect when your cranking the starter your cdi is voltage starved . 12.2 standing battery voltage , what does it drop to with the key in the run position , then when you hold the brake what is the voltage ? then when your cranking what is the voltage . attach a booster pack to your battery and try to start it up . The lights do not turn on when the key is turned on. They come on when the bike is started. In addition the lights have been unplugged the whole time as I took the front off to work on the scooter. The voltage on the battery was 12.5v. No voltage change when the key is turned on. When I grab the brake the voltage goes down to 12.3v. Voltage goes to about 11.8 when I hit the starter. (The readings were all done with the multimeter on the battery terminals.)
As far as voltage from the yellow/blue wire to the CDI, it was barely registering. The highest reading I got was .3v.

I did the test and I barely got a reading and nothing over .3v. Perfect voltage, the pulse coil is just that a very small voltage that tells the CDI when to fire that's all and the CDIU will work with as little as 0.05 volts. It's OK. JR

John Two things to note the lights do not work off of the battery they feed off of the R/R tied in before the blocking diode so no battery voltage does or can go back to the ignition key switch which would weaken the CDI input voltage. Just like the AC type system which has it's on dedicated coil for CDI voltage the lights mean nothing to the function of the CDI. On this scooter the CDI will produce enough voltage to the coil for it to spark on a battery voltage as low as 11.3 Vdc. He has tested the grounds, DC voltage to the CDI, pulse coil and kill wire, all good tests, He needs a new CDI. JR

Alright, I will try the CDI. Can anyone point me in a direction of where to order one for a 2008 roketa mc-62-250?

It is the single plug but it has 8 pins.

Does the CDI look like this: OR are we talking about a 8 plug R/R? Alleyoop If its an R/R are you sure it is not a 7pin R/R

It is the 8 pin CDI. It looks like the first picture.
Out of curiosity, what is the voltage supposed to be on the black/brown wire going into the coil as well as the yellow/black wire going to the coil? Do those values have anything to do with whether or not the CDI could be bad?

Just ordered a cdi tonight. I'll let you know what happens when it comes in.

I finally got the CDI in. I plugged it in and no spark. I appreciate all the help with this but I've decided it is beyond my abilities and I don't have the time or the money to keep investing in trying to get it working so I think I'm going to put it all back together and see if I can sell it as is.
