Well i have been scooting to work the past 2 days and 1st day all was well my oil was leaking a little and my charging system was kicking Butt 2nd day all seemed well oil had stopped leaking and sealed up fine. On my way to work i noticed my voltage was not moving on my gauge got to work checked the wires all seemed well. That night started it up to go home all was good my voltage was climbing and looked good. so i turned my lights on and into the darkness i went by the time i was at the end of the quarry road my voltage went down and was not climbing so i continued on and by the time i was home 6 miles down the road my lights and battery were dead so today i went out and noticed my R/R plug had melted so i cut the plugs off and go with out them. When i was wireing it back up i took the brown wire in my hand and it kept coming it had been cut 8'' down the line so i fixed that then the green well it kept coming too 8'' down the line it had been cut fixed that. So i think that might of been my headlight problem from the start when i got my scoot. Well now just waiting on my batt to charge hopefully i did'nt kill it by draining it that much. yes i have it on a trickle charger. guess i gotta take the car to work today

Lennie not so sure you may have to run the lights off of the red wire coming off of the R/R and put the diode back in?
Let's wait and see how it goes since you reworked the wires.
