As far as heating stuff goes just cut off some scrap and heat it to test. One of the best investments I have ever made was a harbor freight heat gun. It is way handier than a torch for many things. $9.99 or something like that. It is much easier to control than a torch too. 2 heat ranges. You just have to keep it moving to avoid damage to plastics. Drilling holes in plastics some times gets real hard as some will crack around the hole. That is where some heat can come in handy, on the real thin stuff you actually might have to burn thru with a hot iron. The replacement window plastic that I tried to drill to make an aquarium cover split and cracked, it is just too thin to work with. Material for a windshield should be just fine to drill and bend, JR made his own windshield out of some of the thicker stuff.

No doubt John and as hot as it is in Arkieland right now you could just lay it out in the hot sun and it would work easier, seriously.

Hi Jr, that windshield too short. On my scooter they have the windshield much lower then that one in that link. I just measured the windshield i have on my scooter now... its 21 inches tall and 20 inches wide. I am looking for one that is much taller. Maybe something from 30 inches to 32 inches tall. But after reading you guys posting. I decided to go ahead and make my own.

Hi JC, Thanks about that tip about practice using heat gun on the extra sheet. I never thought about that. You convince me to go ahead and make one out of the sheet i bought. Its 36 inches by 32 inches, so i have plenty to work with.
