Timing? Are you sure you have it timed right? Sounds like it's one tooth off?

hi jr it can't be valve timing as the malaguti is a 2 stroke hence no valves lol im' begining to suspect than the piston rings have gone allowing compression to leak past the piston and pressurising the crankcase causing the blowback out the carb

Sorry Ken went to sleep on you. What about the reed valve? Did you make sure it was clean, smooth and not chips in it to allow blow by?

Have you checked the reed valve for nicks or cracks?

If it is blowing out the Carb Also check the WOODRUFF key on the FLYWHEEL, if that is damaged that will throw off the timeing. If that is good It has to be the REED VALVE the membrane is broke and or the spring plates to make it snap shut are weak or bent or broke and NOT CLOSEING on the compression stroke and blowing out back through the CARB. The REED valve due to the SUCTION on the DOWN STROKE OPENS and lets air and gas to come in then once the suction on the down stroke is gone the SPRING PLATES on the REED Valve makes it snap shut because the next up STROKE is when it FIRES and ignites the fuel.
