Check the header pipe were it attachs to the motor it might be leaking there and that is a very common cause of backfireing. They most likely took the header pipe off to get at the stator. Alleyoop

Just like a woman..... Ya had to find a time/temp sign that matches your scoot. It's nice to be color coordinated (just jokin) Seriously though I agree with Alley. When I put on my exhaust last time I forgot the gasket and left it a bit loose so, it would backfire. Oh yeah, Check the valves while your at it ;D

i did the exhaust well tried to it was tight but still backfires when doing a RAPID deceleration
was gonna check valves BUT its been so damn nice, & after 3 1/2 weeks w/o her i just had to ride. spent the better part of on day trying to tune the A/F screw and idle. my god those ho's are TOUCHY 1 simple hair turn and putt putt putt stall go 2 hairs back VROOOOOOOOOMMMM

but tomorrow ill check 'em
