A wavering idle is an indicator of an airleak usually

Jr is on it,,but cut and splice the new reg,,that way if it happens again and you get a direct replacement you can just plug it in and not have to mess with the bikes wiring

I think you're on to the fix,,,I like the flex pipe way better than the mesh setup,,,cut another slot in the muffler collar,,so it will be four petals instead of 2 half pipe sections,,,I think it will " clamp" better and the other end four "set " sheet metal screws will do the trick,,with a generous add of the hi temp sealer,,,then maybe motorcycle pipe wrap to top it off and you got it licked

Late to the party as usual,,, my love for motorcycles has spilled over to scooters,,, I love Em both,,, and with my under 10 mile commute I especially love the $5-6 per week in gas to get to my shop all week with my Stella ,,, being in LA and gas hovering around $4 per it's nice,,, and I met a bunch of great people on the forums as well,,, cheers,,, great bike,,, a very wise choice that machine is one of the greats!!!!!

I have to agree with cyborg, to a degree. Some vehicles should never have an auto tranny, I still enjoy a manual shift, even though I spent my working life shifting 8, 9, 10, and 13 speed trannies. The Subbies CVT is amazing, but when I ordered and waited for the new Camaro a number of years ago, it had to be the 6 speed manual. And of course, before I had 200 miles on it, I had to install a short throw shifter. I know you worked your a$$ off for everything you have but the phrase LUCKY BASTARD keeps coming to mind

Maybe a couple of flanges welded on there will cure the problem,,,,perhaps a redesign is in order ,,go down to one pipe,,,less parts less problems less weight,,,less headache,,,post some pics if you get a chance

All I can say is bring it on. I wish all vehicles were cvt driven especially all motorcycles. Shifting gears are a pain in the butt. I'm in the other camp,,,can't stand an auto,,,and avoid them by choice when I can,,,especially my bikes,,,got rid of a very low mile Vespa ,,poor service access being a big part of the dislike,,,,a cvt being another part of it,,,went all manual Stella,,,this is why the Stella is no longer available with a manual transmission,,,most people prefer to not shift

Coil will be at the other end of the spark plug wire,,,follow the wire from the plug and there's where your coil will be
