Hello everyone; A friend over at Scooter Doc told me I may find some more scooter people closer to my stomp'n grounds here. So, I stopped by and signed up. Growing up we travel around and have lived from East to West. But, I tell people I grew up on the Arkansas River. As a child I learned a little about mechanics from my dad. I was the type mechanic then that when you rebuilt an engine you lay everything out in the order it came apart so you could put it back together. I worked for a local boat dealer during high school and got some mechanic knowledge. In college I again worked for another boat dealer and noticed many times the mechanics would just put all their parts in a box under the boat. I was like, how you know where everything goes? They told me; "Experience". I got an A.A.S. Degree in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology, a fancy name for an electronic technisheanne I still enjoy mechanics but not as a career. Well years went by and into the late 90's. One day my Nephew was rebuilding an older 350 for his TransAm, maybe the early 80's model, and he ask me to come look at something he not know what it was or where it came from! We went up to the shed and he hands me this solid rod about 6 inches long and asks what it was. It looked like a very short push rod and I ask, "this the only one"? Yes! So, I thought and it clicked; "this the push rod for the fuel pump, back then they not have electric fuel pumps on a lot of vehicles"! Then I realized, I had experience. OK, end of that story. Well about 3-4 years ago I was in the Gander Mountain over by McCain Mall. They had 2 scooters on clearance, one was this Dazon Diamondback 50 I bought for $650-750 not really remember. The other was a 125? maybe! Knowing more now it would probably been better to bought the 125 for $200 more. Anywho, I got home and this CD manual I got with it was about the smallest Frisbee I ever seen, because it sure not worth much more, so, I had to learn most of what I know on my Scooter from visual examination, learned that from a girl friend. Finally I got thinking. one day, I going to need parts and I need to find where to get them without getting ripped off. So started searching the Internet and found a few places that lead me to Scooter Doc and they lead me to here! So, here I am scooter gurus, taking a crash course in scooter mechanics/electronics! ;D Attachments:

Hey hey hey! Grew up on the Arkansas River? Well I'm originally from the SW Ark stomping grounds about an hour north of Texarkana in Howard county but right now if I took my time I could walk 10 minutes and throw a rock in old man river! Live right at the bottom of Petit Jean Mt. about 10 minutes from the State Park. Actually did some shopping in McCain Mall about 3 weeks ago and it's one of my wifes favorite places to spend money and you know those girls doing that is easy enough! ;D Love that sign and I'm trying to place it. looks familiar? Glad you're here and for sure if you need any help or just want to join in on the chatter then please jump right in and as always we welcome anyone who works on scooter and owns one. Not familiar with the Dazons but for sure I'm going to look them up and know what you mean about those manuals. We have a large selection of Chinese manuals and I'm adding any I find all the time along with wiring diagrams and lots of tech help. Also my wife is finishing her RN classes and comes to the Rock everyday at Baptist Health Schools so we know our way around. Nice to have another Arkie and for sure glad you're here! JR

Thanks JR Cool your wife going for RN, need them to take care of us when we crash and burn on our scooters. One of the first things I learned about anything with 2 wheels, is keep your feet on the bike at all times. Well when I had my Harley I had to hit the ditch one time and I was trail riding and put my leg down like I used to do in a curve on my Kawasaki riding trails, that was NOT a good idea! LOL! Broke my left femur and those nurses really did a good job taking care of me. I think they more important to healing us than the Doctor! You can see a little about Dazon here; .peoplesmotor.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.peoplesmotor.com/It a Hong Kong web site, so I assume after much thought and a few mind enhancing Beers , they must be in Hong Kong. As I read the forums I starting to get my mind set back to mechanics and excited now about piddling around with my scooter. I have a saying; "If you can not fix it, do not buy it"! This been a really reliable scooter and it has well paid for itself in fuel savings. The new getting wore off now and I kinda looking at having fun doing my way of modifying. I kinda lived life as most people and am the type person everyone is my friend. So, I kinda talk a story pertaining to the subject at hand, in a round about way, before I lead into the actual subject. I have learned a lot from people's life experiences or at least got a smile and hope I do the same for others. Well, I talked enough for now, I posted my picture wrong, it was the first in a post. I not know how to remove it to do it the right way,now that I know how, without starting over? Just let it be known, I learn through trial and error. Maybe we can meet sometime when you down this way. Take care and remember; "keep your feet on the bike at all times"! Muuhahahaha!

LOL it's easy just click on your name and it'll bring up your profile and hit modify profile and it'll bring up all of your info and just change what you want to change.
Yes getting together would be good and you're right having a nurse on hand is good!
OK I give up where is that picture at? LOL
