I had a problem with my 150CC GY6 on a go-kart. NO SPARK All new DC CDI and Coil/Plug wire/plug. Found that the STATOR was bad (8-Pole) It had an internal short to ground. Replaced the STATOR and the PICKUP.
Now I have spark, but still no start. Not fuel related.
When checking the timing, with the piston at TDC (checked with probe into the sparkplug hole), the T line is about 3/4" before the pointer on the casting. Both small holes are parallel to the top of the head. I know that the trigger only is activated as the small plate on the flywheel passes under it. So if the trigger magnet plate is located in the right place, everything should work.
So I am assuming that the stamping of the T and F lines have been misplaced at the factory. With that in mind, I made a new mark at the location where the pointer is indicating TDC. When set at that location, the two small holes on the cam cog are still parallel to the head.
Cranking the engine, I hear it trying to fire, and unburned gas fumes exit the muffler. Occasionally there is a puff that sounds like an attempt to fire.
Knowing that three things are needed to run, fuel, spark, and compression, I am now wondering if I may have a compression issue. Or am I doing something wrong with the stator/trigger/flywheel/timing?
Bare in mind that the engine ran prior to all this, and just quit.
Thanks for the help.

What is the correct distance from leading edge of the plate to the T line?
