Firstly hello. Robert here. thank you anybody for the help. I appreciate it cuz I'm about to pull my hair out or destroy scooter or something I don't know yet. Secondly thank you for the great videos. I used quite a few of these videos from this site to get through some of my own at home repairs. Forewarning-I've been at this for five days now hardly any sleep my only set of wheels for now. So stranded... that is driving me crazy. This is going to be a long post. I just created my account so will lay out scooter next. I have a 2011 Peace Sport whatever... could never see the side under all paint and crud. but I've determined its Peace by breaking down the VIN. 50cc with almost 7k miles,1P39 engine(s). Got a hundred cc BBK, performance exhaust & performance CDI. I also added a performance coil, nkg plugs... numerous plugs...i keep like six at all times... performance carb, Kenda tires, just recently redone all fuel and vacuum lines within the last month, 5 gram rollers, powerlink belt, performance variator, stock clutch...still needs its upgrade to 1500 Spring kit that I have yet to install. Also have the 14/51 gear ratio upgrade in my gearbox...had..will get to that though... can't remember the exact number they are. but the one you supposed to get when you upgrade the engine. so tired sorry. as you can see I've been all around the scooter. Top to bottom up and down I know it inside and out. I run about 47-52 flats depending on wind GPS verified. Never get much below 40 maybe 39 on a hill. Downhill it screams like a bat out of hell.
So here we go into the business at hand. About a week and a half ago maybe a little longer. I noticed a light metallic tap once my scooter started getting hot. Almost like a thin piece of metal rattling around somewhere right between my legs. Or with in that general area. When it started happening..if I kept wide open throttle, the scooter would bog down to the point almost died. I don't know for sure if it would have cuz I wouldn't let it. I'd start fanning the throttle till it got power back..
but I could never go back to wide open throttle. When like that going up Hills even lost more power in the tapping was more predominant. After cool down I could ride fine till it got good and hot again then it started all over again. I say about four or five miles and the tapping would start. Last Tuesday it was doing it on the way home one morning. Thankfully I got it all the way to the house. Because soon as I hit my brakes and stopped to park it it died on its own. I didn't want to mess with it cuz I knew it was hot and mad at me already. Knowing there's tapping issue, smart to let it cool off. So I waited went out later in the day it will crank all day long but would not fire. On the plug I noticed the plug seems really dry I put starting fluid down it no change to some gas down it..no change. oh I think... let me start troubleshooting. Spark fuel cpmlression air should be easy enough... okay. All over the web numerous websites now at least a hundred maybe 150 I've been to. When I tell you I checked just about everything you can check I have. Checklist break down as I can remember.
Check spark do something.. check spark again... do something check spark again. nice strong blue spark on plug. Now on three different coils. try to start with screwdriver and toggle switch. My start switch has been dead for a long time. Change gas, to ethonal free. Check flow at all hose cuts. Filter in, out, peacock ....and so on.
Cut out inline filter and peacock and put a toggle switch straight line to the carb no change. spark plug seems to be dry after cranking for a good 15-20 seconds carb has been torn apart.. carb cleaned, blown out 3 times now. I pulled the guts out of one carb put it into another carb cleaned it out no change. So i switch back over to the other carb still no change. don't have a compression tester. so I rebuild the top end on another motor
..less miles 4k. Using same piston/rings/valves. Also begin charging battery, even added a second battery. Getting good compression though because it seems really strong when I do the finger test. really strong now that's on the second motor with the better crank. But both Motors seemed to have great compression under the finger test. Tore apart the transmission replaced new variator performance style with old and ensuring belt not pinched or anything like that no change. Switch starters and bendix, no change, So put back together performance variator and rollers all cleaned up and ready to go no change. Tonight when I got off i Pulled the whole scooter apart. start checking wiring. Seems with how its acting... you know.. I should have an electric fuel pump or kill switches faulty or something. Well 50s use vacum nkt electric pumps... so i Try another kill switch no change. I find no real chafes and broke wires. I clean up all ground Points. redo some of the wiring. while I'm doing it i change to a second CDI box. think it's a DC but I'm not sure cuz it's smaller than my performance... but it's the original one that came with the bike. no change. just finished tearing the whole top end down make sure all gaskets are all good set with a gasket sealer. Try a second piston with a thorough cleaning and the best rings I determine out of the sets I have on hand . Also went ahead and tried a second Valve head this time. Went to a second intake manifold as well as a intake spacer not broken cracked or chipped. all parts are cleaned and ready to go . Have not changed to a different valve cover but don't see where that problem could be in there because it only pumps air to my transmission case. I do all the rewiring to Let it dry for few hours before I even tried it. still no change. Finger test seems better. I'm at a loss at people. I don't get it. cracked open fuel tank to see if that would help flow it through... try that without the filter... air filter off with me holdimg my hand over it. I am lost and don't get it. Does anybody out there got an idea? throw me a bone here. so down to a real compression test.... I've done pretty much everything else you probably would think unless you are scooter mechanic... and heard this problem before. I would love to hear that thing fire up again. especially on that newer motor bottom end. I'm sure I missed something here. I'll let you know as I read through your replies of I have already done it. it's a whirlwind right now. I've literally brought this thing inside. it's got parked in my bathroom cuz I got a big bathroom and it's Tore to pieces and parts everywhere. that's how bad it's gotten here. pretty sure I'm on day 5 trying to fix this thing. Something that seems like it should be such an easy fix it just will not change. Good strong crank turn turn turn turn give it a little gas even speeds up turning it seems, but will not fire. So I put this up online for help. I will copy and paste it on a few forums... sorry if you see it elsewhere but I need help here. Thank you in advance for everybody's advice before it comes in. I'm so tired I'm literally voice typing this with my eyes closed and opening them trying to make edits so forgive any edits that should have been made that I missed. thanks again everybody I hope we can get this fixed.
