None of the motorcycle shops will look at it. It won't kick over after it's rained. It will turn on n crank but not fire. I checked spark plug wire attached to something with two connections. A tier in the rubber n sparkplug casing cracked. I put liquid electrical tape over the cracks n taped it up but didn't fix it. The previous ower put a charging until on the battery. Noticed a electronical cable that could attach to something wondering if this goes to some sort of charging device n wondering if this is creating a short when its wet out because of moisture. I've ordered a cover for it but if the problem is moisture causing short don't think it will help. Have service manual but no electronic diagrams. Any ideas appreciated.

For me, question #1 would be are you still getting a good strong blue spark under damp conditions. If yes, the problem may not be ignition electrical at all, could be something involving fuel system (air leaks, carb, valves, fuel pump, etc, etc ...). Process of elimination, and checking for good spark is easy enough to narrow the possibilities.
