I have a 08 with 180 miles on it that has completely melted a diode. It was my dad's bike he passed away and I need someone with patience to help me trouble shoot my problem and help me get it back on road please

I am not understanding where to locate the stator. One of the diodes were completely melted and not sure what would cause it to fry the way it did. I have replaced the diode the spark plug and coil battery. Still getting no spark. Scooter sounds like it wants to start

Stator is under a cover on the right side of the bike,,,,the other side contains the drive (belts /clutch/variator,,,I would get all the panels off the machine and start tracing down the wires that lead to the diode,,,there may be a rub thru or another short

Well I replaced the diode and rectifier sprayed cleaner down the air filter and the scooter started up... now my next issue is my battery not keeping a hold and why would my bike rev up to 3500 on its own

Usually an erratic idle or runaway engine rpm is a sign of an air leak...
