Hi, I just bought a 2000 yamaha riva 125 with 2200 miles. It starts easy and runs great. When I take off from a stand still it makes a squeaky growling sound. Sounds like its coming from the rear. If I slowly accellerate I dont hear the noise and when it warms up it makes less noise. All the fluids are new.
any help would be welcome

Quite possibly the clutch pads are glazed from soft take offs from the previous owner,,,take off the bell lightly sand the pads to remove shine,,,and the swept area of the bell and lightly lubricate the arm pivots,,,,

The 1 thing I am sure of he didnt do any soft take offs. He was quite large and liked to drive really fast. I hope this helps.

You've got to get inside the cover and inspect the clutch to see what's going on
