My Il Bello (2100 mi) recently started making a groaning/grinding noise at low speed in the front wheel. The noise stops when the brakes are applied. Any idea what would cause that?

First of all welcome to the forum! Sounds like a dirty or glazed over brake pad and my advice first for a simple try is to go to the auto parts store and get a can of brake pad cleaner and place towels or rags around the surrounding things with paint on them so you won't get it on those areas and spray some on the pads and cleasn them up or you can simply unbolt is while leaving the brake line attached and slightlly with fine grit sand paper (80 to 100 grit) sand the pads clean and see if that helps it.
If it doesn't stop the noise we may need to pull the front wheel and check each wheel bearing.
Again welcome to the forum!

The brake pad cleaner seems to have done the trick! Thanks!
