The scooter I got sat for two years. I cleaned up the gas tank and the carb. I ran new fuel lines and all. It will turn over but not start. I can start it if I flood the carb but it won't run long. It will run if I hook the vaccume line up to the gas line, but not for long. I can loosen the drain screw and see that I'm getting gas to my carb but it won't start. I have to flood it to start it. It won't stay running but a few seconds. I'm at a loss. I was told it was my kill switch. I cut the black/white wire and taped it off. The only other wore I had was a green one. I've tried green to green and looped them. The same with red yellow to green loop. I don't know why it won't start. The carb it clean!!!!!! I'm frustrated and need this for work. It's a bashan 150 racer.

No it is NOT YOUR KILLSWITCH so forget about that, connect whatever wires you messed with back up.
Here is the thing the KILLSWITCH GROUNDS THE CDI and then it kills the SPARK TO THE SPARK PLUG.

So if the motor fires and starts and dies THEN IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE KILLSWITCH.

So lets start with the simply testing first: You say if you FLOOD it runs but then dies. So right there the SPARK PLUG IS FIRING.

Now Since you have to feed it gas somehow that means the fuel is NOT BEING SUCKED out of the carb.

Now since it was sitting for so long the PILOT JET FUEL OUTLETS by the BUTTERFLY are most likely clogged .
THEY ARE VERY TINY, so do this Take the CARB off and get a can of carb cleaner THEY come with a LONG THIN STRAW. Take the fuel bowl off and stick the STRAW in the PILOT JET and SPRAY and open the BUTTERFLY using the control wheel with your hands and FUEL SHOULD COME out of the tiny holes by the butterfly.

What if I can't re connect the black/white wire? Is that a big deal?

Where did you cut it or disconnect it from? You need that to KILL the motor. Now the KEY OFF DOES the same thing it GROUNDS the CDI to KILL the motor. If you cut it by the CDI then if the motor starts you will not be able to kill it even with the KEY OFF and you will need to pull the BOOT CAP OFF THE PLUG to stop the motor.

Kill switch is frozen. Doesn't operate anyhow. The scoot sat in the elements for two years unprotected.

Cleaned just how you instructed and nothing changed. I twisted the throttle as I sprayed the cleaner. It poured out of those time holes. Put the carb back on and it fired up. It ran for about 20 seconds and it shut down.

Fuel pump maybe?

Easy enough to test take the FUEL HOSE off the carb and put it in a cup and crank the motor over. FUEL should stream out of the fuel hose if it dribbles not good.
Also turn the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE screw on the carb CLOCKWISE until it stops then turn it out 2 1/2 turns and see if that keeps it running.

On the killswitch SPRAY SOME WD-40 and work the switch back and forth.

Fuel was pumping out. Would that screw stop it from starting completely?

GOod so the PETCOCK( tank is above the carb back of the seat) or FUEL PUMP (tank is lower than the carb) is working.

So turn the fuel ratio screw clockwise until it stops then turn it out 2 1/2 turns.

Yes. Tank is in the back above carb. I will try the screw tomorrow. I'm close I can feel it. If not I'll have to sell it. I won't pay 80 bucks an hour for somebody to work on it.
