Ok so it was about 93 degrees yesterday. I was heading from work to Mauston about 67 miles. I have noticed that cruising about 56 mph that every once in a while it felt like the scooter was missing. Not sure what is causing that. So I get to the wisconsin dell and I just cruise through the main strip stop and go for about 5 miles It is about 40 miles from work I get out of the dells on the highway about 5 miles cruising at 56 mph and the scooter just died. would not start again right away. Let it sit for about 10 then it fired right up. I just do not know what might be causing this one. CDI over heating?

It could be either your CDI or ignition coil.

It could be either your CDI or ignition coil. Yeah both of them came to mind...

Had this happen to me once in a rain storm, check the black wire on the 2-plug on the CDI, mine was very poorly crimped on the wire. A little soldier fixed it and it's never happened again.

This CDI does not have a 2 wire plug. It is just one big plug. but will check all connections.

Let me tell you what happened to me the other day, my scoot was having starting issues I know your going to say (time to adjust the valves) already did that stop got gas, and I crank, and crank, and crank and it would not start, after some time it did start. what could it be??? It was doing this off and on all week, so I decided to check out, (thinking maybe I had a weak spark, I first noticed that my spark plug cap seemed loose, so poped it off and looked inside, (sure enough the little wire in my ignition coil was pushed aside not making connect, and my wire going inside the cap was also loose, likely I saved the old cap, switch it, now were good to go again. (Sometimes we over look the simplest things). Just a thought

Yea I forgot you have the one plug CDI but it has 5 wires and is DC powered so if it's loosing 12Vdc on the black wire this will happen also if the gray/white has a intermitent short the same thing will happen. Mine did this when going uphill with a passenger, seemed to me it just ran out of gas and sputtered out, only ever did it under a decent load. Turn it off and back on after 5 seconds and all was fine. I just chalked it up to the weak fuel pump.

Todd, last year I had the same issue. The scooter was running fine then just stalled. I found out it was the coil. Did the same as yours had to wait about 10 minutes and it would start right up. You have that expensive cdi, JR and I have the cheap one with two connector plugs.
