Beautiful weather... check
Did I ride today?....check
Having a blast.....check.
This Aelous 300 is a total blast to ride. The new tires really makes a difference. Who ever said a Chinese bile aint worth a poot is delusional. Well at least in the case of the Linhai 300. Pound for pound it is hard to beat. I am at my happiest when I am riding this scoot. I know I sound like a giddy school boy but dang it I am having the time of my life riding this scoot. It accelerates like a car, Rides and handles like a motorcycle. Going to bed now gotta get some sleep. Got a long day of riding tomorrow. Somebody's gotta do it.

My Aelous 300 does about the same. It will get to just above the halfway mark then the fan cycles on and drops the needle to below the halfway mark. There is no evidence of overheating. My thermostat opens up at just about the same time the fan kicks on. I think each scooter has its own characteristics. As long as the fan cycles properly and cools the engine then I think all is fine. That is the main thing.

Best Paint

Thanks JR. I will look at it. Does it have to be acrylic or will just regular enamel be sufficient?. I read somewhere that some folks add a hardener to the paint. I am probably go from red to either Jet black or Burgundy with the latter being my first choice. I got the Burgundy idea from looking at the new Ice Bear Zodiac trike scooters. That burgundy colored one looks awesome.

Best Paint

I am considering painting my Aelous 300. My current paint job has many scratches etc on it. What would be the recommendation of you folks for the best paint to use. I have read several post and seen videos on how to do it with a few paint ideas. A good spray can brand will do. I appreciate your help.

I am in the market for a inexpensive motorcycle to compliment my Linhai aelous 300. What do you think about this?. Is it water or air cooled?. Would that make a difference?. mobile.craigslist.org/mcy/4396630985.html

I hear ya ellpee. I don't necessarily want to hear it driving down the road. It would be nice to have when I am stopped and to hear weather broadcast or listen to the game. Heck I cant hear much when I am riding with the wind noise and all. Maybe I just want to " Keep up with the Joneses" so to speak lol.

Thanks guys I'm gonna get me one. I carry a spare battery with me anyway. Just for a fallback. Going to start looking at radios. Nothing wrong with a few bells and whistles.

Should my Linhai Aelous 300 be ok as far as battery drain with one of these radios?. My charging system works good.

I wonder can you get these with a internal battery of some sort. My charging system works good but I don't want to do anything that will hurt it. Sure would like some tunes though.

Well said Scot. Yep it's time for warmer weather. What part of the south do you live in?.
P.S. I see you live in New Hampshire. Man What a winter you folks in the northeast had. I feel for you.

After what seemed like forever of rainy, dismal, cold days the sun broke out here yesterday and I got the itch. I called my riding buddy up and said lets go on a cruise. So I on my Linhai Aelous 300 and he on his Piaggio mp3 400 set out on a all day ride. We left about 9:00 am and set out for Gulf Shores Al. What a blast we had. We cruised to downtown Mobile Al, Went thru the bank head Tunnel which goes under Mobile river and cruised the scenic 98 roadway which goes past the famous Grand hotel in Point Clear Al. We rode to Gulf Shores and Just cruised the area. All told it was 173 miles of fun. My Scoot rode beautifully and I had no trouble Keeping up with his bike. Man I am gonna have a blast this spring. Anybody who says that a Chinese bike cant be ridden like it was stolen is crazy. My scoot is Just a joy to ride. Smooth as a baby's booty. I averaged 63 miles to the gallon and cruised 60 to 65 mph with about 5 miles of highway riding. I paid $890.00 for my scoot and it had 2300 miles on it. The previous owner had laid it down on the right side in the wet grass and it scared him so he sold it to me. I fixed a few things and here I am. I put some new Michelin City grip tires on it and now I an set. Best $890.00 I have ever spent.
