well I have started putting everything back togeather. While I have everything apart I added a UNI air filter to replace that stupid breather box air filter assembly. I tried to start it and found that a vacuum line on the intake manifold was now un capped. I plugged that and now Im trying to figure out why it wont start. it turns over and it started for a second or two but as soon as I added throttle it died. do I need to adjust the air fuel mixture or something?

its the hard oil line that runs from the front of the engine around to the stator side and then up to cylinder head cover.

I cant believe how much effort it took to find these bolts. they are the banjo bolts for the external oil line. ended up getting them off ebay. wow what a hassle.

Hi john,
The regulator was tested off of the bike, and the stator had on average 4.5 ohms across the plug connector pins.

Hi All, If you have been following my thread over on the dawg board, you know mac told me to check out over here as most of the 250 knowledge came here, so I finally am moving Anyway I am replacing the stator after following the troubleshooting tree on here. I also replaced the blocking diode and the Regulator rectifier, as the rectifier was tested and didnt pass and the blocking diode had melted plastic on the wires coming off of it. Anyway, Im going to start putting it back together today, (what a mess, half the bike had to come apart to get to it), and discovered that the gasket between the cover that holds the stator and the block is trashed beyond reuse. Can I use an alternate of some kind? (Copper rtv or or something) I need my bike back together as it is my primary means of transport, otherwise I would order a new one and wait. Thanks, Sean

OK, I went and got a wrench (21mm) that I didnt have, tightened up the nut. It was very loose. No more play in the wheel. I will take it for a test drive tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. Thanks everybody for your concern and advice.

Hi All,
I have a shenke sl250 - Honda clone engine, Honda Reflex clone body, yada, yada.
I was ridding home today and as I went into a left hand turn and hit the brakes the back end did this weird little shimmy that freaked me out. So I tested it on the way home and it seems fine on the straight and narrow but in curves the bike gets a little weird, not uncontrollable but just strange.
So I get home but the scoot up on its center stand to look at the brakes. well my rear wheel seems to have a lot of play left and right on the axle line 3/8 of an inch or so. This doesnt seem right. It also has some lateral play for and aft and up and down but I could not really measure it. Anyway, it there an acceptable amount of play and if not is there a way to remove it?
I lover my scoot and so far its been a real trooper, I just want to take care of her and keep her happy.
Thanks, Sean

Hi All,
I have a shenke sl250 which is basically the honda clone 247cc engine with the honda reflex body. the bike currently has 1800 miles and some change. the brakes squeak something awful but it all looks okay and with no metal to metal. A fellow scooterist recommended some kind of compound to use that would eliminate the squeak but for the life of me I cant remember what he called it and I cant get ahold of him. Does this ring a bell?
Ps I will be doing a PDI inspection just for my own satisfaction and I would like to take care of everything all at once.
Thanks, Sean
