On my Kymco yup, there is one green wire that comes from the CDI and goes back to it. That wire is the CDI limiter, once removed my bike can "over tach".
However, many newer 2t engines do not have this kind of limiter. I know modern Kymco Sting 2t have a separate Rev limiter, just as JR explained.
Be careful if you delimit your revs. Running at too high an RPM on a 2t can cause you to burn out your piston. I try to keep my Kymco at less than 9000 rpms (was limited to 7500).
I'm fairly certain that you can simply unplug your rev limiter. I'd give it a shot, worst thing that could happen is it simply won't run, then you could simply hook it back up, no harm no foul
Good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I will most certainly take pics of my fleet and post them in The Corral

Hello! My name is Blueboy5000, I'm a new member who found your site to be pretty cool!
I'm 35, live in Waterbury CT, where I am president of The Grey Market Raiders Chinese Scooter Club of Connecticut.
I maintain a small fleet of five bikes (soon to be seven!). I hope to share my knowledge of GY6 150cc and 50cc bikes with everyone, especially noobs, since how are they gonna learn if they don't ask?
I've been riding scooters avidly since 1988 (i was a mere 12 when I got my first Honda C-90). In recent years, due to their rising popularity, I have been mostly focusing on the 157 style engine and the 139.
Currently I ride a 2011 Baccio 13" wheel scooter with a 157qmj engine, and maintain a 2007 Wildfire with a 157qmj, a 2008 Sunl Adventure with a 1p57, two 139 50cc's (a 2008 Roketa Bahama 50 and a 2007 Redstreak retro-style) and a 2002 Kymco Yup 50 2t.
I look forward to meeting you guys and sharing knowledge of this hobby, and helping new riders learn to maintain their bikes, so that the scooting craze grows!

Well thank you very much.
I apologize though for kinda getting heated in that post though. Trolls are no reason for anger.
But you nailed it. If you want to learn, you ask people. You should never be put down because you asked a question about something you need information on.
In my opinion it takes a pair to ask a question. And that deserves respect.
Thank you for your kind words sir! This has inspired me to join your site!
