The bigger hose is from the fuel tank. I disconnect that and fuel will pour out.
I'll take some more pics, but scoot is not w/me at the moment (at girlfriend's house).

Don't have a pic of the carb, but looks all normal.

No BBK or anything. Just carb, spark plug, wire/coil, CDI, petcock. fuel lines.
OK, will test out the new petcock.

ok thanks. I did check compression not too long ago (95psi), but forgot to hold the throttle open.
Petcock is new too.

I replaced the reed valves to see if that was the issue. Starting issue that is. Replaced EVERYTHING.
Now...no fuel is coming out of the petcock. If I disonnect the fuel supply line to the petcock, gas is pouring out. But cranking the motor...no fuel coming OUT of the petcock.
So...do I have a compression problem due to not enough vacuum to suck out the gas?

Thanks! Ya, I swapped the stator and she runs good.
Now...if I can only find out why this new engine just doesn't seem as powerful as the old one. Could it just need to be broken in some more? Granted, I'm not going to run lean like I did before which caused the old piston to melt and valve to break.

Could it also be bad Reed Valves?

I fiddled w/that carb mixture so friggin' much. But let me mess with it some more.
No, don't think I held the throttle open when doing the comp test. Plus, my compression tester wasn't a screw-in type, so probably had air escaping.

Plenty of spark.
New Keihin carb. New petcock.
Will start (and idle real fast) with starting fluid. But then it will die and not start again (w/o fluid).
Decent compression (I think): 95psi
I'm at a total loss.
Do I need to maybe adjust the float?

What's the best way to adjust the mixture? Enrichen (screw turn counter clockwise) as it starts to idle rough?

Hmm...ya, but would it cause all that heat for the piston to melt like that?

Yes, that's the valve head stuck in the top of the piston.
Nasty, huh?

What would cause all this? Running lean? Shoot, the engine was running perfectly; didn't think I was running THAT lean. Always ran it using Premium fuel. Plenty of oil.

Is it possible my old engine has an 11-pole stator and the new one is an 8-pole? Guess I'll take off the flywheel and check it out.

Please note, I guess this Il Bello has 3-phase rectifier if that helps?
