Update: got parts in. Replaced the headlight, left brake/light switch assy, ignition switch. Now I have lights.
Put all the plastic back on and fired it up. It is still cutting out, but it got up to around 52mph now. It is running worse and better at the same time.
I adjusted the valves, replaced the spark plug, replace the coil/plug wire, drained old gas/put new 91 octane gas in, checked for any kind of defect that would cause a vacuum leak and checked the tightness of screws and bolts, and hanged the fuel filter. Only thing I can think of now would be the CDI. I have no idea how to tell if one is going bad though. I am at a loss. edit: I was reading on the air/fuel screw on the carb. I had replaced the carb a while back (it still didn't run right though), but I didn't adjust the air/fuel. I went out to check it out and there is no air/fuel screw on my carb. I replaced it with the original OEM carb (which I have now learned was probably a bad idea) and it has no adjustments on it except the idle. So......I am still at a loss.

The mixture screw is behind a pressed in sheet metal cap,,, drill a small hole in it very shallow so you don't hit the mixture screw head and get a pick and pry it out,,, turn it clockwise all the way in till it stops then out 2&1/2 turns

Come to find out, there is a air/fuel screw exposed on the new carb. I just couldn't see it with the plastic on. I adjusted it, but alas, no difference. Runs the same as before. Started with 2 1/2 turns out and went from there. So, although it is drivable and running pretty good, it still has that hesitation once you try to give it gas, particularly with WOT. I noticed that if I back off a little and play with it, it will make a difference.
The only thing I could think of now is perhaps the vacuum fuel pump isn't providing enough fuel to the carb. What else is there?

If you have stumbling at medium to wot positions and back off and it settles down and/or picks up its running lean,,, go up one jet size on the main jet

Hey guys I'm new to this forum and also new to scooter. I have a sunny 150cc. It seems like it wants to start. The engine turns over but when it DOES start it'll shut right off. Any idea why this is happening? I'm not mechanically inclined but DO want to learn anything i can about my bike. Please help! Any reply is much appreciated.

You might want to start your own thread on this. It could be entirely different than the trouble I am having.

If you have stumbling at medium to wot positions and back off and it settles down and/or picks up its running lean,,, go up one jet size on the main jet Can this be done on the stock carb I bought? Not sure if there is access to the jets or not without drilling screws out. BTW, I think what you said here is exactly what it is doing. Medium to WOT seems to be the trouble and when I back off it a bit it will settle down. I tried to feather it, but it didn't seem to matter.

You need to pull the bowl and go up a size in the main jet
