Okay everyone here's my introduction thread and my story; thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/4403/new-guy-kind-crazy-story Benelli Andretti, 2009, 7600 miles, QJ motors yamati So, basically on this bike when I got it back, it had the fallowing problems: 1.) Two broken front turn signals. 2.) Broken right hand brake handle (broke in half, ita duct taped together now, lol). How hard is this to replace? 3.) Headlights are dim, she has 194's and HS1 bulbs for hi beam. One HS1 is dead completely, the other burns normally. The two 194's are dim and almost dead. They've been in there since '09 (factory bulbs) 4.) it has now 7600 miles on it, I am thinking I need to change the gear oil? It hasent ever been done that I know of... 5.) Back rear brake pads (disk brake) are pretty bald I need to replace them soon. They're 220mm and I can't find replacements,.but ill look harder later. 6.) Wired new ignition, was easy 7.) Changed motor oil (it was the color of mud, light brown *sad*) 8.) Replaced rear turn signal bulbs I got #3 figured out, but ill need help with the rest of this stuff, #1 turn signals are ordered (LED ones) and should be easy peasy to install myself so I think I'm good there. I watched videos on how to change gear oil, but not sure about my bike, I'm sure I can figure it out but I have no idea what oil I need to replace it with, someone help me here pleaseI haven't even looked into replacing the brake handles, hoping its easy as well, if anyone has info on how to change the brake handles and gear oil feel free to share. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the link jr ! I'll be getting some 15w-90 gear oil on Friday and change that out. Updates; Still waiting on turn signals to get here. Took off rear end and seat/compartment bucket and reconnected the carb to air box hose, idk how long its been driven unconnected. It was a PITA to get on, I had to use a wide hose clamp! Got everything assembled and she's running alot less lean now, but in a good way. Going to Midas tomorrow to see if they'll weld my silencer back to the exhaust pipe as its come off upon further inspection, hope they don't charge me much. After turn signals get here and I change gear oil I guess ill order some bright LED T10 replacement bulbs and new HS1 bulbs so I can have lights again lol. Then of course the brake handle(s) need to be replaced, which I dont think is terribly difficult, I hope... I'll keep you guys updated, thanks again JR.

Okay so I got my turn signals, universal LED triangle shaped. They're a bit smaller than I imagined but the LED is bright enough to compensate. $20 cant complain I guess. I think it looks slick, they're kinda fragile so I like how they're pretty close to the body. Might even do the rears so they match. Getting 15w-90 gear oil today or tomorrow, is this okay for 150cc's or do I need diff gear oil. I'm thinking the 15w as I live in the south and it rarely gets below freezing. jr since your the only commenter so far, what do you think buddy? Am I on the right track? Oh and to add for anyone who might need this info. My original turn signals had green wires with stripes and a solid black (two wires)
The turn signals I bought came with just grey and black wires (two wires) I just matched the blacks with blacks and the green striped ones with the grey wires, it works.Here's a side shot;

Update; Okay so today, i returned a non breathable bike cover at wal mart but didn't have recipe so I spent $20 on super bright LED replacements for the 194 running lights in the scoot. I replaced them and yes they're very bright lol... Now I just need the HS1 bulbs. I still have two questions I need help with someone please?1.) What viscosity gear oil do I need to get for this 150cc, or how do I find out? Do I get 10-15w-90 or do I get just 90? *confused* 2.) I noticed the carburetor intake manifold has gotten a bit dry rotten and they're are a few cracks, is this an easy replacement? Or what do I do? Doesn't seem too difficult to replace given I get the right part. jr I'm sorry to keep bugging you but could you or someone else please weigh in here on the two questions above please?

Intake manifold is an easy enough repair,,75-90 will be perfect Thanks alot cyborg. So, after my oil change I noticed my plug leaking. Ordered a new plug/filter/screen and replaced it. Then I proceeded to go the gear oil, this bike is weird, I had to take the cvt case off to get access to the fill plug, it was big too like a 17, then drain plug was only 10mm. Thank you everyone who has helped me so far, but I have another question. I hear a ticking noise when the scooter is running, is this a sign my valves need adjusting?
Thanks again everyone.

The valves could use an adjustment,,,do it with the engine cold,,like overnight cold

Ok I read a few guides, and I guess I need a measurement tool? I forgot what its called but I guess after I do the intake manifold ill order that tool and set them proper settings.
I am not driving this scooter, only around the neighborhood at like 15-30mph right now as I work on it and it helps me diagnose potential problems.
I'm working on getting a title because I lost it, then ill register it and get my M endorsement.
But while I do all of that jazz I'm just getting the scooter in the best shape possible to retain as much of my additional $400+ investment in this scooter...(Impound fees $400+ $700 initial buy price + new battery/turn signals/brake handles/intake mani/and all the money in new bulbs)
I'm invested like $1200+ in this bike now...

Check the library for gy6 valve adjustment procedure ,,,it's pretty straightforward,,,you'll need a set of feeler gauges ( very inexpensive) and a small set of wrenches
