I just got an EMail that looked like it was from a credit card company, touting how easy it is to sign up for one. There was a link to click if you don't want to receive any more such EMails, but the URL behind that link was something way weird, definitely not a place you'd want to go -- nothing at all to do with any legitimate credit card company. Used to be you could do the "unsubscribe" thing without thinking twice about it, but it appears the cyber-dirtbags are using that as a way to stick it to you. Beware, scooter friends.

There are ways to block the email and I would do just that.

Problem is, every time they come they APPEAR to be coming from a different address, so EMail blocking doesn't do it. I'm also inundated with similar scam EMail alleging to come from PayPal. I actually use PayPal on occasion when sellers prefer that, and am hard pressed to believe that every time I do, all of a sudden I get obvious scam EMail from Azerbaidzhan or wherever. Coincidence? Not likely, and though I immediately report them to PayPal (spoof@PayPal.com), I've never gotten any real feedback, only robo-mails, thank you for blah blah blah. The scammers have never actually gotten to me, since I know enough not to click on any links, etc., but I pity those even more clueless than I who might fall for it. PayPal, I might add, seems to be by far the worst, although it's hard to do business without them these days.
