In a thread a little further down, it looks like my CDI went out. I am having a much more difficult time trying to find one than I thought, despite one company claiming to have one available (that didn't.) Most parts for the Linhai 250/260/300 engines seem to be fairly standardized and easy to find. Not so with this CDI. I am just wondering why I can't splice a different CDI box in, instead? I have six wires going into the box, they are color coded light green, red w/ white stripe, black for the top three, Black w/ red stripe, dark green, black w/ white stripe for the bottom three. The code on the box is 250CC-2221 It shouldn't be too hard to find a comparable aftermarket 250 CC CDI, shouldn't it? I really don't care what the plug looks like. Perhaps someone can explain to this newbie why there are so many different kinds; in my mind there should be AC or DC for 50, 150, and 250-300 - that's it - a total of 6 permutations.

Here is your common plug connectors for a CDI. Just follow the wires from the stator and plug them in their respective slots. Alleyoop

I would love to have a pinout on the 6 pin B090501 250cc cdi that you have shown here.

The one from testedscooterparts has the correct plug but the box is a very different shape and does not have mounting holes (I could always rig something up.) The one Alleyoop found is an exact match, but it is in New Zealand. p) I got out my multi tester and here is what I found with the key on: Solid black and dark green were +12V. Light green and dark green were also +12V. Both were nothing with the key off. Some of the other combinations gave me very low - V readings

Its a DC CDI, it is fed by the battery when you turn the key on. Alleyoop

Mine is a 6 pin, as pictured above. This is becoming impossible to find, bike has sat two weeks now and was supposed to be my primary mode of transportation. I have Rapid Jim looking for one, too. Hopefully he can come up with something. If my box is a 12v DC, why can't I just find another 12 V box, trace all the wires out, and connect them to the appropriate pins?

I would agree with you on this replacing the plug and cdi . I have not done this I don't see any reason it will not work . John
