One thing I forgot to ask, did you go to a Kosco variator as well or are you still running the OEM stock one?

Thank you so much for both of your inputs, I'm going to adjust the valve tomorrow morning and will check into all that you mentioned. My scooter just won't start for some reason, I think it's the valve that is giving me this issue right now so I'll follow Alley's advice on .004 on both ends and will check how it will turn out. I'm also looking into 16/36 or 16/37 and may just do the swap eventually... ;D

JR, I'm running stock variator, only placed Koso 11g sliders. I did purchased another variator that I weight the set and my stock one weight 75g heavier, I mentioned that to the seller and they said that this variator will not support beyond 6K RPM so I took it out and put the stock ones on.

Guys, I don't know why but for some reason my scooter just won't start, it will crank but won't fire.
I don't know why it did that, on Tuesday I was riding it and everything was perfectly fine. I parked it in the garage over night like usual. The next day I put some fuel on it to make sure I have enough gas to get to work & it just continues to crank but it won't fire up...
I adjusted the valve to .004 on both sides like Alley suggested, checked starter to make sure it's not drowning in oil and it's clean & dry, at least from the outside...
Should I check any specific hose or vacuum line? I want to check compression but don't know how...
Kind of stuck a little bit... D8

Make sure your KILLSWITCH on the right handgrip is on the ON POSITION you may have hit it accidently and turned it to OFF. Alleyoop

also since you took the VALVE cover off to adjust the valves you may not have put the GROUND WIRE for the motor back on one of the VALVE cover bolts. Alleyoop

I checked both, everything is in order and good, I flip the switch on the handle and the dash light goes on/off as if I were to use the keys.
You think it might be the carb? I'm thinking about pulling the carb out just to see since it's not working at this time.

I checked vacuum line and try to crank & see that there's suction on the hose so I think the compression is there.
I haven't taken out the carb yet but would you think that's the issue?
Also, I took the spark plug out and noticed it's moist almost oily by the thread of the spark plug, when I have the spark plug connected to spark plug wire and try to crank but don't see any spark on the spark plug, this method is what I do with my car to see if there's any spark to the spark plug but I don't see it, do you think it's the wiring or the spark plug or something worse?

When your checking for spark ARE you holding the PLUG AGAINST the MOTOR? Also Try holding on the FRAME and see if it sparks there. Alleyoop

I did both, engine head as well as the frame & I did it with 2 spark plugs & 2 ignition coils (stock & orange), I even switch 2 CDIs. All of them in different combination still have the same result which is no spark coming out, I even add the screw driver method instead of spark plug on those combination but nothing at all. Do you think it might be the magneto stator that needs to be replaced in order for me to get any spark at all? Or do you think it might be wire harness issue and I should replace that? I did leave the spark plug out since I did smell a lot of fuel smell while I was cranking as the piston pushes through the spark plug hole, I think engine flooding may have been part of the issue as well so I'm trying to eliminate that possibility. 1 more thing that I noticed, when I was shaking the clear fuel filter I noticed some loose black particles on the bottom corner of the filter, not much but enough for me to wonder if the fuel line is clogged...but then again I do smell a lot of fuel so I don't really know what to think on that one... For some odd reason, I have a feeling it's something simple that I overlooked, and if it's an easy fix, I would kick myself so hard stressing over this at this moment...well it is after all my first scooter so it's best if I learn as much as I can out of this situation.

Well since you switched 2 cdis and 2 coils that only leaves TWO THINGS that can be bad the STATOR or the PICK UP COIL for a no SPARK CONDITION. If you have a VOLT METER you can test BOTH and find out which one is BAD. And if no spark you will flood it and smell gas. Alleyoop

Thank you for confirming my suspicion, I don't know where my volt meter is so I'll have to get a new one. I'll also look into a replacement stator as well. Thank you for your information, I'll keep you posted on my updates! ;D

Guys, the problem was the stator, now it starts right up! Now I have a question, now that it started, I noticed that the engine tick a lot, does that mean the valve is too open at .004 inch? Prior to me adjusting to .004, I think my original setting is closed to .003 so should I bring it back to that #? I'm just excited that my scooter starts! It's been too darn long... -p

Yes if it has a little tick then put it back to .003 and she should quite down. JR

Will this valve ticking cause any problems or damage? Would a new rocker arm assembly cure the problem?
