I was trying too fire up the scoot and it will start and run for about thirty seconds and then die. Can not give it gas iether. this has happened a few times even on a warm scooter. right now I'm thinking of replacing the carb but i can't find the exact carb PD24JD. the carb has what appears to be a vac line on the front just above the bowl. Any Idea's? Thanks Bill

The PD24JD is just a 24mm carb made in china nothing special about, so any 24mm CVK carb will work just fine. Was the scooter running before this happened or has the scooter been sitting for months without starting. If the motor has not run for 6 or so months the carb is all varnished up with dryed out gas and all you really need to do is clean the carb out and its passages or get a new carb. Also how many miles on it and when was the last time the motor had its valves adjusted.
Nothing major going on just a littel TLC and it will be up and running. We will tell you what to do if you need help with anything. I have pictures of many things to help you with parts of the carbs and what they do and whatever else you need. So us know what you want to do If you want to Clean the carb , just go to the auto parts store and get a SPRAY CAN OF CARB CLEANER, it comes with a LONG THIN STRAW to get into the carb passages to clean them out. The bike has been running fine till about two weaks ago, it's has 1,300 miles on it. I try and pick up some carb cleaner. And the nipple IS on the carb. The manifold has two vac lines it.

There are usually three nipples on a carb: 1. The fuel inlet nipple 2. The Carb Drain nipple 3. The Overflow Vent nipple high on the carb -- usually has a piece of hose that is about 2 inches long and CURVED down but that stays open. 4. IF the carb has a ACV valve this nipple is on the RIGHT side of the carb where the Throttle cable bracket is. Alleyoop Here is what your carb should look like: Left Side: Right Side:

Alleyoop I will pm you my email address if you want In the meantime I will try and find a picture of your carbs VIEWS. I have already found one but they only show the AIR INTAKE view.

Is that extra nipple on the front of the carb on the right side where your throttle is and does it CURVE back? If so that is for a emission connection, is it open with no hose going to it? You don't have to take the carb off just see if you can take a picture from either the top looking down over the carb and the hoses around so we can see what kind of emissions you have on the scoot. That nipple does indeed curve just a little and there is a line of some sorts going to it.

Cool, now follow the hose connected to it and see what it connects to on the other end. Alleyoop

Ok, now the canister probably has other hoses going and coming from some place. So find out where they go and come from. It is an emission type carb it could be for gas fumes being feed back into the intake or from unburned fumes from the exhaust or it could be a vaccum line.
I pmed my email Alleyoop
