Welcome to the forum. When you say ignition are you refering to the key switch? if so then you've got something bad wrong because the key switch only has 4 wires to it. The wires you gave while 3 of them do go to the key switch the others do not, red/white = CDI pulse wire orange = left blinker brown/white = low beam headlight The Chinese are famous for using different color wires and the diagrams we have are based upon where each wire goes in the circuit and not necessarily the color. The wires you've described so far also go to the remote alarm but you've got to have a ground wire for sure. Post some pictures of these wires with their location and we'll be able to figure out what you've got going on. JR

Richard I can plainly see that just by looking at the blue bullet connectors on the wires he's showing that someone has indeed messed up his wiring system. for instance the orange and red/white wire together in one of the male bullet connectors , NO WAY! These are not even OEM connectors but rather ones from any auto parts store.
I've got to put a new horn on my 250B and I'll try my best to get the front off in a day or two and also take the wiring diagram and do a little wire color matching up and see if I can figure out what in the heck the other person did to that scooter.

I would guess that most of these would go to the instrument cluster. JR, take a look and correct my mistakes Red-clock feed brown/white-normally feeds lo-beams like JR said, but maybe feeds instrument cluster bulbs? orange-feed for left turn indicator on dash purple-water temp guage black-hot feed for fuel and temp guages Just an educated guess, since mine is a 250B, but my dash bulb feed is solid brown. The thing that makes me question my findings though, is the guages of some of the wires. They're larger than would normally go the the instrument cluster. Verifying these with a multimeter would be the only true way for me to determine location.

I have the front off my 54B and the ignition wires are same as yours. The hook up is as follows on mine; Brown/White(from ignition switch) to NOTHING::: Orange(from ignition switch) to NOTHING;;; Black(from ignition switch) to Black/White;;; Black/White(from ignition switch) to Green(Ground);;; Red(from ignition switch) to Red;;; Red/White(from ignition switch) to Black... Hope this helps you on getting the wires back together.

Awesome guys! What makes this so difficult sometimes is even though the wiring diagram we have as far as what goes to what is right on the problem is all the dang colors the Chinese can use sometimes likf for instance they can use black for a ground wire instead of green.
Now I can read insanetexans color scheme like a book.
The two wires brown and white and orange are accessory wires not used because this is s 6-wire switch that only 4 functions are used. So with that said here is how and what they do:
black to black/white = CDI kill wire Black/white to green = ground Red to red = 12Vdc from battery red/white to black = 12Vdc out with key on
When you turn the key off the circuit is closed on the CDI kill wire side or grounded out, this is what kills the engine, at the same time you open the 12Vdc circuit which feeds all of the power to the scooter accessories and such.
The opposite occurs when the key is on.
Thanks guys for jumping in here and helping this member! As I said I'm going to get the front off of mine and I'm figuring since I'm going to be reduced to chair duty for awhile I can do some color coding on these wires and update the diagram.
