HID flicker usually happens because of supply voltage problems. Make sure that the HID's have their own dedicated supply line (14 guage wire minimum) and a 20 amp automotive spade style fuse which attaches directly to the battery. Make sure you have a good supply line and if the problem persists the battery voltage may be dropping too low when the lights are turned on. Most people with 150cc scoots have to convert their electrical systems to full DC instead of the AC/DC in order to supply enough DC power for HID's.

Does your stator have a coil to power an ac Cdi? If it does I would change to ac Cdi. John

If your lights turn on without it running, they are on a DC circuit

I have a 150cc super scooter limited edition I recently bought it and it had a hid headlight that turns on with a toggle switch, it worked just fine the first couple times I used it. Now when I turn it on I have to flip the switch multiple times when it finally turns on it flashes like a strobe light and that's all it will do anyone know how to fix this? Or what caused it. Also my electric start stopped working I have to jump it off with a car or kick start it. I hooked a Duracell 6v trickle charger to the batter it said it was charged so I ruled out the battery but idk any help? Also could I just remove the hid bulb and replace it with a normal bulb to make it stop doing this or maybe get a lower watt hid bulb?

Just because the battery took a charge does not mean it is good. Get a volt meter and test the battery just sitting there. Then start the motor and rev it up to around 4-5 k and see what the volt meter reads. The battery could have a bad cell and is depleted when you use your electric start and that does not leave much juice for your HID bulbs. And it could be that the Regulator/Rectifier is not putting out enough or the stator to keep up with the extra draw from the hid bulbs. Alleyoop

First of all the 6v trickle charger is useless with a 12v battery, it will only charge it to it's capabilities, 6v. So the next thing I need to know is exactly what is your scooter? You say super scooter limited edition but make and model with engine type would help steer me in the right direction. Then we can see if it is set up well enough for a HID light as most 150's are not unless they have a 11 pole stator upgrade or come like a few with the 12 pole stator. Scooter do not come with HID's as standard equipment especially 150's so this is a add on by the previous owner. JR
