MC54-250B Roketa[2008] To properly align marks before valve adjustment, which direction should I turn the chain sprocket? Does it make any difference?
Thanks

First of all Welcome to the forum! In answer to your question, Yes, you can either turn the cam sprocket or the variator but turn it "counterclockwise" to align it. On the average it takes 3 complete turns and that will get you to TDC on the compression stroke and the cam mark and the flywheel "V" mark aligned closely on the marks. JR

Thank you JR for the welcome and the answer. The classic symptoms of the engine dying when hot, due to the valve out of adjustment. That what prompted my attention.
Another thing, I had replaced damaged original with 300 Kit. But the mechanic never addressed the rejetting the carb. Is it possible to have a similar "dying hot engine" when the carb is not re-jetted to accommodate the EXTRA cubic centimeters?

Never heard of it is has? You need to remember that the 300 kit actually only gets it to about 280cc at the most depending on the kit? A kit with a 75mm piston will hit 280cc. But some of the kits are 72mm so it's even lower on the engine's cc's. Rejetting not even necessary.
At the most you could raise the needle one notch and be alright.
