Lennie brake light and tail lights are together in one bulb but have two filaments and a common ground wire in the same bulb. 99% of these bulbs are the good old common 1157 bulb found in lots of places. The brake light filamentis brighter than the tail light one.
On your scooter it will have 3 wires that run to this bulb;
Green = ground yellow/green = brake light Brown or yellow = tail light.
All scooters I know run the tail lights att the time and also are on with the headlights. So if you put a switch on then put them both on this switch.

Are you talking about the little side lights by the headlights?

It's the kick starter and we need a picture of the little box you mentioned.

Lennie that is for sure a blocking diode! Now I asked you if you had a kick starter for a reason and it was not being rude either.
If that blocking diode is in this system then you have one of three possibilites here;
(1) This scooter is a 250 scooter because unless you're the first for me I've never seen a blocking diode on the 150 scooters. I did come across a couple of them that listed it on a wiring diagram that were 150's but they were not Jonways. Your color wires to the CDI and light switch indicate a AC 150 system with a 11 coil stator upgrade that really needed a 7 wirte R/R. (2)Someone did modify this scooter and took 250 components and tried to hook it all up and failed. Yes you could do this with a 11 coil stator but it's just not necessary. But we already know that the red wire wasn't even hooked up to the battery by what you told us. (3) It's had a 250 engine installed in it? Again that's why I asked you if it had a kick starter? 250's don't have them, only smaller cc engines have them that I've see.
Was this diode plugged up to anything? If it was being used it should tie in on the red wire from the R/R and then go to the battery. If it was in the system hooked up like this and the R/R and stator are good then if you have no charge at the battery it's bad.
A blocking diode passes voltage one way and doesn't the other. If it is in the system one way to see if it's any good is to simply unplug it and jump the plug to it and start the scooter, if it charges then you have your answer.

well the emission tag on the side of the engine says yy150-2 so i don't know if i can go by that but yeah there modifacation failed guess thats why i got a good deal but no complaints we'll get her fixed ;D

Ok i checked the blocking diode plugged in heres what we have with the engine off i read battery voltage on both wires also the same with engine on. I also read 26acv on the red with engine off and on so whats up with that WELL maybe if i unhook what me and JR talked about before and see what happens since im reading battery voltage from this thing any idea's
