HAHAHA, now that is funny, But the problem could be it was put in upside down. So when and if you take it off here is the way it should go in. IF IT WAS PUT IN ASS BACKWARDS it will register like you mentioned. Alleyoop THIS IS WAY IT GOES IN AND WHEN THE FLOAT IS UP IT REGISTERS FULL: When the FLOAT MOVES DOWN IT SHOULD REGISTER EMPTY OR CLOSE TO EMPTY:

WOW!! Looks like the wire is bent the WRONG way!!! Now let me ask this Does that go into the Side of the Gas Tank? If it does get two pair of pliers and grab the wires next to the bend then TWIST THE LONG WIRE so that the FLOAT goes up Like in my First Picture. Then to adjust it so that it will tell you WHEN it is Almost EMPTY HOLD the Sensor along side the tank even with the hole it fits into and let the Float drop down and you can bend the wire so that if you have some gas left on the bottom of the tank it will float when the wire stops all the way down.
That way it will register full longer because the FLOAT will actually be UNDER WATER(gas) and when the Gas Level Drops enough for the Float to Actually float the gauge will start to register lower than full. But its more important to Know when your running out of gas than when its full.
All the Floats are the same they register EMPTY and you may have a gallon left. But with you bending it down eyeballing it from the side of the tank so that the float will still be floating with some gas left is much better. And when adjusting it Plug it in and move it with your hand and turn the key on and you will see when you move the Float up the gauge will register full and when you move the Float down it will register empty.
Hope you understand what I said if not I can maybe draw a picture, BUT tell me where the hole is on the tank where the sensor goes in. My Sensor goes in almost in the middle of the tank. Now my tank hold almost 5 gallons so my gauge reads full till about 2 gallons are gone(HEHE). Then Finally the gas level goes below the Float and it then starts to FLOAT on top of the gas and starts to register I I use more of the gas up. Alleyoop

I put it in on the top of the gas tank. So pretty much I just have to bend it the other way and im good rite??

hook it up and see how it registers on the gauge when you put it in various positions and go from there.

Since the sensor fits on top It was installed backwards install the entire SENSOR 180% then the float will be up and should read full and empty correctly. Alleyoop

Good Luck, you can see for yourself just hold it 180% on the side of the tank as if in the hole and see where the float points up or down in . Alleyoop
