I want to thank you for all the help and advise you gave. This is a great website. I got the scooter running. It was the headlight high beam switch. Two wires the black wire and white wire shorted together in a wear spot at the connector. Need new highbeam switch.

You are writing right now. Welcome to the forum! When you say all new parts are you saying carb, fuel filter and/or fuel pump? There are obvious things that stop fuel from not getting to the engine and others not so obvious: Clogged fuel filter Bad fuel pump Broke or leaking vacuum/fuel lines Stopped up carb or stuck fuel needle Some of the not so obvious ones are Badly out of adjustment valves Bad valve itself Torn or hole in carb diaphragm. Cracked intake manifold. Let us know what the scooter is doing and what you have or have not checked and we'll get her back on the road. JR

First of all it has a pump so the only gas you are getting is gas coming out of the overflow pipe on the side of the carb. The fuel line to the carb will produce no gas unless the engine is turning over. Gas flows by means of the vacuum pump.
So pull the gas line to the carb and turn the engine over steady and see if you get a good flow from the line. If not then you still have one of these possibilities:
Stopped up tank Stopped up fuel filter Bad fuel pump Fuel pump hooked up incorrectly Crimped fuel line cutting off fuel Bad vacuum line to fuel pump leaking vacuum Cracked intake manifold which loses the vacuum required to make the fuel pump work.
If you are getting good fuel flow out of the fuel line to the carb then here's a list of possible problems:
Stopped up idle/main jet Stuck float/needle Bad diaphragm
Also just to see if the scooter will fire pull the vacuum line off of the intake manifold and squirt some carb cleaner in the open port and turn her over to see if it'll fire, if so then you've got to figure out which one of the fuel problems you have.
Also just because you bought some new parts doesn't mean you didn't buy a bad part, it happens.

Sorry to revive a dead topic but I referenced this thread when chasing down a short on my znen. Had same symptoms where the fuse would blow a second after turning key to on position. No lights starter or horn worked. Ended up being the green/yellow wire was melting into the black wire near the rear brake lever. Must have pinched the wire when putting the cover back on last time I changed the headlight.
