Just purchase a Malibu Propel with a GY6 motor. It did not run when I purchased it, but I now have it running. When I start it, it have a loud "tapping" sound coming from the engine. Does this need the valves adjusted? If so, what is the proper way to set the valve clearance and what is the proper clearance measurement. Thanks in advance for your help. Wayne

Thanks for the info. The videos were great. Adjusted the valves and now the scooter runs perfect. Thanks, again.

you might want to recheck them from time to time . The first hint of poor starting or any proformance problems , I pull the valve cover and check them . I would also do a plug read make sure your not running too lean .
