Hi my 50cc direct bikes retro scooter will not start. Started first time then the next morning the engine turns over but will not start.what is the best route to take on diagnosing the fault. Also the front and rear lights have stopped working or does the engine actually need to be running not just the ignition switched on for them to work.

Hi. It's 4stroke just 3yr old had it just over 2yrs. 1200 mile not really had any servicing other than oil change x2 and new spark plug.kept in a shed. I get spark but looks more white than blue to me.should the new plug be wet with fuel after turning over the engine a few times. There seemed to be just a tiny bit of black gooie stuff on the new plug when removed.going to have another look at it today. Got a new fuel kilter and coil lead thing and air filter hopefully coming today. Will have a go.

The plug should not be wet,,,,it may have gotten flooded somehow,,,,pull the plug ,,,turn it over a few times with the plug out then put a new gapped plug in it or the old one ,,,gap it and dry it really well,,,it should lite up

Hi cyborg. Well this morning I took the foam air filter out and she fired up first time. There seems to be some fuel coming into the air filter and soaked into the bottom corner of filter. I have got myself a haynes Chinese scooter manual so hopefully will be able to diagnose why Any suggestions??thanks

Carb float either stuck open or it's cracked and filled with fuel and sinks or the float valve may be bad
