Why is the enrichener (enricher?) connected to the alternator (AC) instead of the 12v dc circuit?

Thx! I think mine doesn't stay on long enough in cold weather. I'm thinking of trying a 10 ohm resistor in line with a dc hookup. Thoughts?

Give it a go if you need it on longer for cold weather starts and warm up
