Totally Lost, Need help here By dell (Read 827 times)

HI all, I ride Honda Goldwings and I realize this is not the site for goldwings but here is the situation, I have a friend that recently acquired a scooter with problems. He says it is a Daytona Style Chua Scooter. First of all I don't know if this is a Chinese scooter or what. It is a 2005 and he tells me it is a 150cc engine approx 4500 mi. on the clock. I don't know who makes it or where.
The problem is it won't start. I have done fairly extensive work on my goldwings so I volunteered to help him get it running. The story is another friend of his put a new carb on this bike and now it won't start. It won't even try to fire.
Here is what I have done so far:
put in a new plug and checked for fire and I do have fire
added a starter switch, when I got it there were just two bare red wires and he said to just touch the two wires together to initialize the starter
I have gone as far as removing  the plug and put a little bit of gas directly into the cylinder and it still won't even act like it wants to fire.
I read on this forum to remove the vacuum hose on the intake, put a little gas in and it should run for a short period or at least try to run. I did that and still won't even try to fire.
So I am stuck here and don't know what to do next.

Thanking you all in advance and I know there must be a huge knowledge base here. So any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also can someone here tell me more about actually what this scooter is and who the manufacturer is.

If you have a good spark and giving it gas directly and it won't even fire ever so slightly then you need to check the compression next.

Are you sure you are getting a nice strong blue spark?

What do you mean by a starter switch? The solenoid or the starter button? Where do the two red wires connect to?

Yes getting a strong spark. Don't have a compression tester so only way to test compression is to hold finger over plug hole and turn over with starter button. Doing this, it has compression.

Minesweeper, I guess it is the starter button. The wires are on the right handlebar.

Going to recheck spark. I have a feeling it is intermittent, like maybe a loose wire or broken wire somewhere. Will post results from retest.

So was working on my son's scooter a 50cc tao...I have changed the plugs,CDI the ignition coil,muffler and carburator... I cranked it and it did on the first hit... so I take it out to the drive way to test run it and it picks up speed very slow...what do I need to look at... it revs when you give it gas when on the center stand but drop it to the ground and try to take off and my dogs run faster than the scoot....where do I look to solve this dilema?
