Installing new GY6 engine, but has different stator wiring By ragtopdodge (Read 1,745 times)

The NEW wiring to the new engine is on the left.

Green, yellow, white on the green connector, red female (IIRC), blue/white male bullet wires.

The OLD wiring to the old engine/stator is on the right.

THREE Orange wires on the connector, green male bullet, blue/white female bullet wires.

Also included in the pic are two different GY6 wiring diagrams. Notice that none of the colors match.

Should I crack open the stator cover and see where they go?

Please note, I guess this Il Bello has 3-phase rectifier if that helps?

Is it possible my old engine has an 11-pole stator and the new one is an 8-pole?  Guess I'll take off the flywheel and check it out.

If you swap stators you will be fine .

Yes it does the Fly scooters all came with a 3 phase stator. As TV mentioned you can swap the stators or you could change R/R's but it would be better to keep the 3-phase system.

Thanks! Ya, I swapped the stator and she runs good.

Now...if I can only find out why this new engine just doesn't seem as powerful as the old one. Could it just need to be broken in some more? Granted, I'm not going to run lean like I did before which caused the old piston to melt and valve to break.

Engine will get better when she breaks in a spell.
