Thanks Alleyoop, I'll get Dwayne to check on that. How did you make out with the Burgman ? John We got him up and running like a top! Sort of. LOL The cel came on, had a transmission code, wouldn't shift by itself so we had to shift it manually. Finally got the time and cash to have the "big boy" scooter place (read dealer) check it out so we took it to them for a test drive and recommendations. On the way there, no cel light and it shifted like new! It sat in their shop for a week, 7 days, waiting for a test drive. We finally went and picked it up on day 8 and he's been riding it ever since. (They did nothing to the bike, not even a test drive)

Okay, very and getting We put the new stator on this stupid scooter. Ran FINE!!! Test drove it for at least 5 miles before we called the owner. He drove it home, parked it, got up the next day and it was making an awful noise and wouldn't start. Stator bolts had backed out! Put on yet another, the third, stator, again test drove bike about 5-7 miles, ran great and was charging/firing fine. Owner picks it up, takes it home, parks it. Next morning the lights on the rear won't light up, the front ones are dim! WTH?!!!!! I'm ready to burn this thing! It has over 8k on it, motor smokes, everything's rigged up with duct tape or bailing wire. I think it's time to retire this scoot. What's your opinion guys?

Stator charging fine, something in the wires. Chasing it down now. I'm betting we find corrosion and bad connections throughout the bike.

Okay, problem still not found. Stator seems to be putting out fine, but lights are very dim at idle, brighten up as rpm's rise. Getting frustrated!

I would start to look at the regulator .

John, we have a "donor" bike here that runs fine. We took the regulator off of it and put it on the broke one, no difference. Found only 12 volts on the yellow wire out of the "new" stator instead of the 15 JR says we should have. Just ordered the third stator, this one from a different site. Hoping this fixes it finally.

Okay, fed up with this stupid bike now. New stator and lights are still dim, as in no brake lights at all, at idle. Barely any taillights with throttle reved. Headlights very dim at idle, brighter on rev but not bright enough. We've changed out every part in the electrical system, checked them all, and everything seems to check out fine. Could someone please tell me the CORRECT way of checking the charging/firing system for this bike? Step by step, for DUMMIES LIKE ME?

You know? This used to be a good place to go and get advice and help when your trying to help others. We aren't charging this guy anything near what a "real" shop would, all we want is for this bike to run and leave our shop. The bike has perfect brake lights, perfect blinker lights, but the headlamps and taillamps are dim at startup, then they just fade out to nothing unless you rev the bike up. One last plea for help here before I give up on scooter professor.

Well have you checked the NEW stator you put on to see if it is putting out 40-100VAC. If not you have ANOTHER BAD STATOR. If it is putting putting out then check the R/R and see if it is also putting out good voltage. I have to ask have you also checked the BATTERY voltage because the BRAKE Lights WORK off the Battery NOT the stator. If no brake lights check the bulbs they may have blown if so the R/R is overcharging or you have a bad ground someplace. Also does the scoot have a radio or anything added that may be draining the battery while sitting there. You can test if there is a drain while it is shut off. Get yourselfs a $2.00 12V Light Tester and trace where your loosing the juice to the lights. Always test at the END by the sockets then work back and find where the juice is being lost. If you got juice at the socket then check the bulb and check the GROUND get a piece of wire and GROUND if the bulb is good it will light. This is simple stuff guys just use your CABASA. You guys are in panic mode and that makes your brains go hairwire in the wrong direction. Just think of how the system works and check each Point of contact. And the $2.00 Light tester is all you need for finding lost juice to something. We don't get paid for this and it is on our time whenever we have sometime we do have our own living to do. Alleyoop

I understand you are frustrated but no need to make such comments.
Now here is the complete correct test for the stator wiring outputs. I also might want to mention that sometimes a R/R from one scooter while it may plugin may not be the right one for another scooter?
Now if that is all correct and you have a good battery and with the scooter at a 3k to 4k idle you have 13.5Vdc on the battery then the stator and R/R are doing their job. Dim lights can be lots of things<
Bad wire Loose connection Bad contacts in the light/dimmer switch Bad headlight bulb socket Very poor ground including ground connections where negative battery cable hooks to frame, ground wires that split in the harness that have come apart or making poor contact due to Chinese crimps.....and the engine it self MUST be grounded. The R/R must be grounded.
You mentioned this scooter had wiring problems I believe? here is the Roketa section for wiring diagrams. Click on the Bail 150 and it more that likely will work for this scooter wire for wire:

Now I hope truly you find the problem, and it you want to give up on us then so be it but we won't give up on you.

So be patience and all will turn out just peachy kin. Alleyoop

Have you checked the clearance between the stator and flywheel ? Have you tried larger diameter wire on the lighting , ground and power ckts ? The Chinese wires have high resistance you could be dropping voltage in the wires .
I always welcome phone calls !!!!!
