See if the radiator switch for the fan has power,,,if it does the switch may be bad and not sending power to the fan to cool

hi not sure how to use this site . However here goes I have a Yamaha 2001 250 majesty with 12 thousand miles on the clock which is true. It was ok at first say 500 miles .now I have a overheating problem. It runs ok the temp shows just below half way. when I come to stop the engine the temp goes in to the red and stays there to cool.I have a new thermostat new coolant fan but no power coming to the fan. What to test next any ideas would be great thank you billy 22 Billy22, you might want to start a new thread for this rather than tacking it onto this one which is about an entirely different scooter. But without knowing anything about your brand of scooter, you might want to check for a blown fuse. If not that, then check for 12v at the wire going into the thermoswitch that is probably located somewhere on your radiator. If you have 12v there, that switch might be bad; it's supposed to let the 12v thru to the fan when the radiator temperature gets high enough -- probably somewhere around 170 Fahrenheit.
